2026 5-star IOL places Texas A&M in his Top 6 program list

One of the top 2026 IOL prospects have placed the Aggies in his Top 6 list

Texas A&M’s (7-2, 5-1 SEC) 44-20 loss to South Carolina in Week 10 was embarrassing, to say the least. The offense failed to find its footing in the second half, and the defense missed 25 tackles in one of the unit’s worst performances on the year.

However, this was Texas A&M’s first SEC loss. The Aggies are still tied for first atop the conference standings and can still reach the College Football Playoffs with games against New Mexico State, Auburn, and Texas still ahead in the regular season.

After the loss, some fans questioned if recruiting would be affected, but remember that it’s about the season for most recruits, not just one game. Losses happen, but under head coach Mike Elko, the program is in good hands amid his first season.

After landing three 2026 commitments just a day after the Aggies’ 38-23 win, one of the game’s visitors, 2026 5-star IOL Lamar Brown, stated to Rivals recruiting insider Sam Spiegelman that Texas A&M is high on his list from now on:

“They’re No. 1 and leading by a good bit,”

On Sunday morning, Brown released his Top 6 program list, which includes Texas A&M, LSU, Tennessee, UCF, Alabama, and Miami as the final schools Brown will consider.

Brown is by far the most athletic and physical offensive line prospect in the 2026 cycle, possessing versatility as a defensive lineman similar to 2025 4-star and Texas A&M commit Kiotti Armstrong, who also thrives as a defensive end.

According to 247Sports Composite, Brown is currently positioned as the 6th-ranked prospect in the 2026 class, the No. 1-ranked IOL, and the No. 1-ranked prospect in Louisiana.

Elite 2026 OT out Baton Rouge (LA) recently visited Texas A&M

2026 5-star offensive tackle Lamar Brown recently took part in Saturday’s prospect camp at Texas A&M

The 2026 recruiting class at Texas A&M is still in its early stages, but the anticipation is building. Head coach Mike Elko and his staff are finalizing the 2025 cycle this summer, and a wave of high-profile prospects, including potential game-changers, are set to visit College Station as early as next weekend.

Over the weekend, Elko and his offensive and defensive staff organized a camp for future prospects, primarily targeting the 2026 and 2027 cycles. Among them, Lamar Brown, a five-star offensive tackle, showcased his potential through rigorous drills, leaving a lasting impression on the attendees

Brown, who is entering his junior season at University Lab HS, is by far one of the most versatile prospects. He possesses the size, strength, and athleticism to play on either side of the trenches, showing off his pass-rushing ability during said drills, as his collegiate position is still up in the air.

With a future return to Texas A&M likely in the works, Florida, Oregon, USC, Florida State, and Georgia are also in the mix heading into the summer months.

According to 247Sports, Brown is currently positioned as the 9th-ranked prospect in the 2026 class, the No. 1-ranked IOL, and the No. 1-ranked prospect in Louisiana.

2026 5-star OT out of Baton Rouge (LA) will visit Texas A&M this summer

One of the top offensive line prospects in the 2026 recruiting class will visit College Station next month

The 2026 recruiting class is filled with future defensive talent. While Texas A&M will host a long list of 2025 prospects, the 2026 cycle will be featured throughout the next two months, led by five-star defensive lineman Lamar Brown out of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Brown, who is entering his junior season at University Lab HS, is by far one of the most versatile prospects. He possesses the size, strength, and athleticism to play on either side of the trenches, but his collegiate future will likely continue on the offensive line.

Standing at 6-4 and 275 pounds, Brown has received nearly 20 offers. Starting next month, On3’s Sam Spiegelman has revealed that Brown will visit Texas A&M on June 1 and UCF on June 7-8, while Florida, Oregon, USC, Florida State, and Georgia remain in the mix for a future visit.

Without a 2026 commit, you can trust Aggies head coach Mike Elko to make a splash as soon as June hits. In terms of landing offensive line talent, Elko and his staff have already acquired four OL commits in the 2025 cycle.

According to 247Sports, Brown is currently positioned as the 9th-ranked prospect in the 2026 class, the No. 1-ranked IOL, and the No. 1-ranked prospect in Louisiana.
