Texas A&M is a finalist for 2026 4-star tight end Caleb Tafua

Texas A&M’s 2026 recruiting class is now the focus after head coach Mike Elko and his staff signed 25 commitments in the 2025 cycle, including five-star offensive tackle Lamont Rogers and five-star wide receiver Jerome Myles.

So far, so good. The Aggies have secured eight commitments in the 2026 cycle and are currently ranked No. 2 in 247Sports’ recruiting rankings. While it’s unrealistic to say that Texas A&M has any momentum from the 2024 season, recruits are buying what Elko and his staff are selling.

The Aggies need to land a playmaking tight end in OC Collin Klein’s system,  and as of Thursday, Texas A&M is a finalist for 2026 four-star TE Caleb Tafua out of Lakewood, California. A&M joins Washington, USC, and Cal in his Top 4 program list.

Tafua is an up-and-comer with plenty of potential. He has strong hands and notable speed, and his multi-sport background as a volleyball and basketball player has aided his development.

Tafua stands at 6-4 and nearly 220 pounds, but once he enters a collegiate program, expect at least 20-30 more pounds to be added.

According to 247Sports, Tafua is currently ranked as the 193rd-ranked prospect, the 11th-ranked tight end, and the 26th-ranked prospect in California.
