Texas A&M’s 2026 recruiting class has already reached the No. 1 spot in the rankings after landing four prospects over the last two weeks, as the momentum has continued since the Aggies hosted nearly 50-plus prospects in the cycle during A&M’s 38-23 home win over LSU.
Sitting at 7-2 and 5-1 in SEC play, Texas A&M’s College Football Playoff hopes are still intact. At the same time, two home games vs. New Mexico State on Saturday night and, of course, the season-finale vs. Texas will include a host of current commits and prospects visiting in the 2026 cycle.
On Monday, 2026 4-star linebacker Tank King released his top 10 program list, as Texas A&M has made the cut for one of the top LB prospects in the class. The Aggies join Nebraska, Michigan, SMU, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Notre Dame, and Alabama.
After visiting College Station during the LSU game, King spoke to GigEm247’s Andrew Hattersley to discuss his developing relationship with Aggies head coach Mike Elko and defensive coordinator Jay Bateman:
“I met with Coach Elko and Bateman before and after the game and we talked about how this system is ran and how I fit in it and we talked about the LBs and the game. It’s always good conversations with them and I can’t wait to come back. I will be back for the UT game”
With King returning for the season finale against Texas, an Aggie win would go a long way toward landing one of the best backers in the 2026 cycle.
According to 247Sports, King is currently positioned as the 37th-ranked linebacker and the 66th-ranked prospect in Texas.
