Duke basketball picks up two Crystal Bell predictions for five-star 2025 forward

Duke basketball picked up two Crystal Ball predictions for another top talent in the 2025 recruiting class on Wednesday.

The Duke Blue Devils sit atop the 2025 basketball recruiting rankings after the commitment of four-star forward Nikolas Khamenia on Tuesday, and Jon Scheyer and his staff aren’t done yet.

Two different 247Sports recruiting writers, Adam Rowe and John Watson of The Devils Den, logged Crystal Ball predictions on Wednesday for four-star forward Shelton Henderson to pick the Blue Devils.

Henderson, a 6-foot-6 and 220-pound small forward, is the 15th overall player in the 247Sports Recruiting Rankings. According to MaxPreps, he averaged 21.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 2.9 steals, and 1.4 blocks for Bellaire High School as a junior, leading the team in every category, and associate head coach Jai Lucas (who graduated from Bellaire himself in 2007 before playing college basketball with the Florida Gators and Texas Longhorns) took an in-school visit with Henderson last month.

Henderson included the Blue Devils among his final three schools alongside the Longhorns and Louisville Cardinals. Should he choose Duke, he’d join Khamenia and five-star twin brothers Cameron and Cayden Boozer in the 2025 recruiting class. All four players sit within the top 21 of the 247Sports rankings with Cameron, one of the highest-ranked commits in school history, all the way up at second.

The Boozer twins reportedly deciding between Duke basketball and one other school

With a decision expected soon, 2025 basketball prospects Cameron & Cayden Boozer are reportedly deciding between Duke and one other school.

2025 basketball prospects Cameron and Cayden Boozer feel like the first dominos to fall in the Duke recruiting class, and with their decision expected next week, reports indicate that the Blue Devils are one of two finalists for their commitments.

According to reports from On3’s Joe Tipton and national basketball reporter Adam Zagoria, the twin brothers are expected to choose between Duke and Miami on October 10.

Carlos Boozer, Cameron and Cayden’s father, won a national championship with the Blue Devils in 2001. Across three seasons of college basketball, Carlos averaged 14.9 points and 7.2 rebounds per game before getting picked in the second round of the 2002 NBA draft.

According to the 247Sports Rankings, Cameron is the No. 2 overall player in the Class of 2025 and Cayden is the No. 21 overall player and fourth-ranked point guard.

Cameron, a 6-foot-9 forward, averaged 22.2 points, 11.4 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks per game for Columbus High School as a junior. Cayden put together 12.0 points, 7.6 assists, and 1.8 steals per game alongside him.

While the Blue Devils remain in the mix for five-star names like Nate Ament and Shelton Henderson, it feels like other 2025 targets await the Boozer twins before making their decisions.

Duke basketball coach takes in-school visit with five-star 2025 forward

Duke basketball associate head coach Jai Lucas visited Bellaire High School, his old school, to recruit a five-star 2025 forward on Wednesday.

Duke basketball associate head coach Jai Lucas got to turn a reunion into a work trip on Wednesday when he visited five-star 2025 forward Shelton Henderson at Bellaire High School on Wednesday.

Lucas attended Bellaire High School, graduating in 2007 before playing for the Florida Gators and Texas Longhorns at the collegiate level. He joined the Duke coaching staff ahead of the 2022-23 season before being promoted to his current role a year later.

A 6-foot-6 forward, Henderson is the 15th overall player in his class on the 247Sports Rankings. He led the Cardinals with 21.6 points per game as a junior last season, also coming down with 7.6 rebounds and dishing 3.9 assists. He clearly knows how to use his frame on the defensive end, averaging 2.9 steals and 1.4 blocks as well.

According to an August report, Henderson will take an official visit with the Blue Devils over the weekend while the football team plays North Carolina. The Texas native included Duke alongside the Texas Longhorns, Louisville Cardinals, Houston Cougars, Texas Tech Red Raiders, and LSU Tigers.

Carlos Boozer’s twin sons, Cayden and Cameron Boozer, set unofficial Duke basketball visit

Cameron and Cayden Boozer, twin sons of Duke basketball legend Carlos Boozer, will unofficially visit the Blue Devils this weekend, per report.

The Boozer family legacy could continue on basketball courts in Durham soon.

Cameron and Cayden Boozer, the twin sons of former Blue Devil Carlos Boozer, will reportedly take an unofficial visit to Duke basketball this weekend.

247Sports’ Travis Branham first reported the news on Wednesday, saying the Blue Devils will be the first of three schools on the brother’s schedule over the coming weeks.

Cameron, a 6-foot-9 power forward, is 247Sports’ second-ranked player in the Class of 2025. With the Blue Devils out of the running for top-ranked AJ Dybantsa, the taller Boozer brother figures to be the top target for head coach Jon Scheyer on the trail.

While Cayden, a 6-foot-4 point guard, hasn’t gained the same national attention as his twin brother, he’s 19th in the 247Sports Class of 2025 rankings in his own right.

The brothers play for Columbus High School in Miami, and the Explorers finished 29-6 in 2023-24. Cameron averaged a team-high 22.2 points and 11.4 rebounds per game, and Cayden paced the team with 7.6 assists per game while averaging 12.0 points.

Branham reported that the duo will also visit the Hurricanes and the Florida Gators from their home state.

Duke basketball makes the final five schools for four-star 2025 forward

Nikolas Khamenia, a four-star forward and a top-30 prospect in the 2025 class, included the Blue Devils in his final five schools on Friday.

Four-star forward Nikolas Khamenia revealed his top five schools on Friday, confirming that Jon Scheyer and the Duke Blue Devils remain very much in play for his talents.

Duke made the cutoff alongside North Carolina, Arizona, Gonzaga, and UCLA.

Khamenia, a 6-foot-8 California product, is 247Sports’ No. 27 player in the Class of 2025. He plays for Harvard Westlake, a team that finished last season with a 33-3 record, and he’s risen quickly up the rankings over the last few months.

“Khamenia, a modern power forward, can guard multiple positions,” our Bryant Crews wrote when Khamenia announced that the Blue Devils offered him. “He is athletic enough not to be a liability and can stretch the floor when necessary.”

The Blue Devils only officially offered Khamenia last month, but the five-time national champions clearly have his interest. According to a Friday report from 247Sports’ Brandon Jenkins, he’ll visit the program on September 13th as he takes time to see each of his final five schools in person.

The Blue Devils don’t yet have a commitment from the Class of 2025, but Khamenia is one of a handful of top talents Scheyer clearly has his eye on.
