After the Texas A&M men’s basketball team unveiled its 2025 SEC schedule on Tuesday, the following day belonged to the ladies.

The Aggies women’s basketball team revealed its 16-game conference slate on Wednesday. While the first three games may be extremely challenging, it’ll quickly show head coach Joni Taylor exactly what her team is made of.

Texas A&M begins SEC play with back-to-back home matchups in College Station, Jan. 2 versus Tennessee and Jan. 5 against Ole Miss. The Aggies hit the road for the next two contests, Jan. 9 at South Carolina and Jan. 12 at Oklahoma.

On Jan. 16, Texas A&M hosts Georgia. Precisely one week later, the Aggies welcome Kentucky to their land. Texas A&M travels to the bayou on Jan. 26 to face LSU. Four days after, the Aggies matchup against Arkansas.

Texas A&M starts the second half of the conference campaign on Feb. 2 versus Texas. The Aggies play at Auburn on Feb. 6. Texas A&M returns to Reed Arena on Feb. 9 to take on Mizzou. Eight days later, the Aggies travel to Tuscaloosa to for a matchup at Alabama.

On Feb. 20, Texas A&M faces Florida. The Aggies conclude their road schedule with a pair of games, Feb. 23 at Mississippi State and Feb. 27 versus Vanderbilt.

Texas A&M begins the madness by finishing the regular season at Reed Arena against Arkansas on March 2.

No. 6 Texas A&M baseball team’s offense stalls in Game 2 loss against Mississippi State

The Aggies suffered their first home loss following a 5-1 defeat. The Bulldogs tallied 5 runs in the fifth, 3 of which came off one swing.

While the Texas A&M men’s and women’s basketball teams respectively battled Nebraska in the NCAA Tournament on Friday, the baseball team dealt with its own version of March Madness as its offense stalled in a loss against Mississippi State.

The No. 6 Aggies (20-3, 2-3) suffered their first home loss of the season following a 5-1 defeat against the Bulldogs (17-7, 3-2) at Blue Bell Park. Mississippi State tallied 5 runs in the fifth frame, with 3 of them coming off one swing from junior first baseman Hunter Hines.

Texas A&M scored its lone run in the second inning on an RBI single by junior shortstop Ali Camarillo, who was the only Aggie to record multiple hits, going 2-for-4. Freshman third baseman Gavin Grahovac has now reached base safely in 12 consecutive contests and has at least 1 hit in 8 straight games.

Junior right-handed pitcher Tanner Jones (1-1) took the loss after pitching the first 4.0 innings and allowing 5 hits, 2 runs, 2 hit by pitch and 1 walk with 2 strikeouts on 72 pitches.

Texas A&M hosts the Bulldogs for a rubber match at Olsen Field on Saturday at 2 p.m. CST.

Texas A&M coach Buzz Williams reflects on last 6 weeks ahead of March Madness Selection Sunday

Given the highs and lows of the past six weeks, head coach Buzz Williams reflected ahead of NCAA March Madness Tournament Selection Sunday.

On Feb. 10, the Texas A&M men’s basketball team upset No. 6 Tennessee by 16 points at Reed Arena to win its third game in a row.

In the next game three days later, the Aggies (20-14) lost by a single point at Vanderbilt, then proceeded to lose the following four SEC matchups to drop five consecutive contests.

The calendar turned to March and the Aggies hadn’t lost all month until Saturday afternoon’s 95-90 loss against Florida in the semifinals of the SEC Tournament at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

Texas A&M won 70-56 at Georgia on March 2, 75-69 four days later versus Mississippi State at home and 86-60 at Ole Miss to conclude the regular season. The Aggies beat the Rebels again to begin the conference tournament on Thursday night, 80-71. Texas A&M defeated No. 9 Kentucky for the second time in 2024 with a 97-87 victory in the quarterfinals on Friday evening.

Given the highs and lows of the respective five-game winning and losing streaks, head coach Buzz Williams reflected on the past six weeks at the conclusion of his postgame press conference on Saturday ahead of March Madness NCAA Tournament Selection Sunday.

“It’s a combination of the last six week. We lost every game for two and a half weeks in a row, now we’ve won every game for two and a half weeks in a row,” Williams recalled. “I’m thankful for the last five wins, this is our first loss in March. But I also think the response of our guys from the five losses in a row, I’m thankful and very grateful.

“I thought they played with great resiliency today. On a fast turnaround, of all of the things that transpired, to lose a two-possession game against a Top 25 team, I’m really thankful. Whatever is going to happen tomorrow, just to be able to be in this position, I think that our team has changed over the last three weeks. There’s some legacy that goes into what has transpired in their response.

“To be able to play on Saturday three years in a row in the (SEC) Tournament, I think there’s a lot of good stuff. We’re disappointed with the result but we also don’t want to miss the lessons that transpired this month.”

The Aggies now await their fate, which will be revealed Sunday at 5 p.m. CST on CBS. The NCAA Tournament begins on Thursday.

PREVIEW: Texas A&M men’s basketball team faces Florida in semifinals of SEC Tournament

The Aggies are attempting to become the first SEC team to reach three straight finals since Kentucky made five in a row from 2014 to 2018.

After losing in the SEC Championship game last season, Texas A&M has reached the tournament’s semifinals for the third year in a row.

The Aggies (20-13) qualified for the penultimate conference tourney game following an 80-71 win against Ole Miss on Thursday in the second round and a 97-87 victory versus Kentucky on Friday in the quarterfinals at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. Texas A&M is attempting to become the first SEC team to reach three straight finals since the Wildcats made five in a row from 2014-18.

Back on Feb. 3, the Aggies narrowly beat Florida (24-10) by a final score of 67-66 at Reed Arena in College Station. The Gators advanced to the semifinals with a 102-88 win against Alabama on Friday night.

As pointed out by 247Sports Texas A&M beat writer Carter Karels on X, the Aggies seem to be in a win-win scenario on Saturday. If Texas A&M wins, it’ll add another Quad 1 win to its resume. However, if Florida prevails, the Aggies’ February victory is likely to be upgraded to a Quad 1 win.

Regardless of the SEC Tournament conclusion this weekend, Texas A&M appears to have earned its spot in the NCAA March Madness Tournament. Tip off on Saturday between the Aggies and Gators is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CST.

Texas A&M Men’s Basketball 2024 SEC Schedule Released

Texas A&M men’s basketball now knows who and where they’ll face their SEC foes during the 2024 season.

Texas A&M men’s basketball officially knows who and where they’ll face their SEC foes next spring.

On Monday afternoon, the SEC unveiled the Aggie hoops’ opponent slate for the 2024 regular season. Texas A&M’s 18-game conference schedule will feature nine games apiece at Reed Arena and on the road, as the Maroon and White go head-to-head with eight schools once and subsequently embark in a home-and-home series versus five other programs.

A&M will welcome Kentucky, Florida, and Tennessee to Reed Arena to highlight the home slate. The Aggies’ road foes include Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Missouri, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt.

Arkansas, LSU, Missouri, Ole Miss, and Tennessee will each face the Aggies twice as “mirror opponents.” Of the 2024 opponents announced, Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Missouri, and Tennessee spotlight as programs that punched their ticket to the NCAA Tournament last season.

The Aggies enter the coming basketball season as clear contenders for the SEC crown. Expectations are high following a highly successful season: they went 25-10 (15-3 SEC), reached the conference championship for the second consecutive year, and returned to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2018.

Texas A&M would go on to fall to Penn State in the opening round, but no one is overlooking the brewing potential in Aggieland under the leadership of Buzz Williams. The Aggies recently clocked in at No. 19 in ESPN’s newest Way-Too-Early Top 25. With a majority returning starting lineup alongside some key transfer portal additions, A&M could be equipped for a deep postseason run.

Dates, times, and television information for the 2023-24 SEC schedule will be released later. Texas A&M’s complete non-conference schedule will be released once it is finalized.
