ON Tuesday, Rutgers softball added talented pitcher Dezaria Johnson to their 2024 recruiting class.

On Tuesday, Rutgers softball added talented pitcher Dezaria Johnson to their 2024 recruiting class. Johnson originally committed to North Carolina in 2022 but elected to join the Big Ten with the Scarlet Knights.

Johnson is a standout pitcher at Eastside High in Covington, Georgia, and is ranked No. 20 in the 2024 Extra Elite 100, according to Extra Inning Softball. Johnson, also known as, “Z” is a two-time First Team 8AAAAA All-Region selection in Georgia.

She finished her junior season with a 3.70 ERA and recorded 120 strikeouts. At the plate, Johnson logged a .396 batting average while drilling seven home runs. Last season, Johnson guided her team to a state ranking of No. 6 in Georgia’s Class AAAAA.

As for the Scarlet Knights, Rutgers finished last season with a record of 32-25 (9-14 Big Ten) and the No. 11 ranking in the Big Ten Conference. As a team, Rutgers finished last season ranked No. 8 in pitching with a 3.36 ERA and No. 5 in batting with a .285 average in the Big Ten. When Johnson reports to campus in 2024, she can help boost these rankings for the Scarlet Knights as the program continues to improve.

In four seasons with the Pirates, Guerrier has played 32 games, recording 408 careers for 3249 rushing yards and 43 touchdowns.

The Port Charlotte, Florida, product is averaging 8.8 yards per carry and has three games this season where he has rushed for more than 100 yards.

The future Scarlet Knight is ranked No. 143 with 11 touchdowns and No. 159 with 687 rushing yards in Florida, according to MaxPreps Sports. Also, the 5-foot-7 192-pound senior running back is ranked No. 158 in Florida with 66 points scored.

According to 247Sports, Guerrier is ranked the No. 196 prospect in Florida and is the No. 96 running back in the nation among his recruiting class. Guerrier helped guide the Pirates to a 7-2 record and the No. 1 spot in Florida’s 3S District 13 Football Standings. Guerrier and the Pirates are ranked No. 86 in Florida as they get set to play the first round of the state playoffs.

Rutgers football’s 2024 recruit Korey Duff Jr. is registering a solid senior season for the 6-2 St. Anthony’s Friars (Melville, New York).

Rutgers football commit Korey Duff Jr. is backing up all the hype. The four-star wide receiver has certainly shown himself to be an elite talent.

Duff has been a key part of  St. Anthony’s (Melville, New York)success this season as the Friars are 6-2. The 2024 prospect has recorded consistent numbers throughout the season for the No. 1 ranked high school in New York.

The 6-foot-5, 205-pound wide receiver / tight end has recorded 38 catches for 651 yards and six touchdowns throughout the season., according to MaxPreps Sports. Duff’s best performance came against Iona Prep in Week 4, where the future Scarlet Knight recorded eight catches for 194 yards and two touchdowns in a 44-24 victory.

Duff is averaging 17.1 yards per catch on the season and is the No. 1 tight end in New York according to 247 Sports.

Through his first six games of the season, Duff has 651 receiving yards. Duff is a utility player on the football field, capable of returning kicks, lining up as a tight end or going wide as a wide receiver. Also, his ability to block makes him dangerous without the football.

For his career, he has recorded 115 receptions for 2328 yards and 23 touchdowns in 25 games. Duff is averaging 20.2 yards per catch and 93.1 yards per game for his high school career.

Duff and defensive back Aaris Bethea (Brooklyn, New York) are the only two commits from New York in the Rutgers’ 2024 recruiting class.

Rutgers 2024 recruit Kaj Sanders recorded seven carries for 116 yards and two touchdowns, lifting the Crusaders past the Marauders in Week 8. 

On Friday, Rutgers football recruit Kaj Sanders recorded two more rushing touchdowns, totaling nine touchdowns on the season. The four-star prospect totaled seven carries for 116 yards and two rushing touchdowns, lifting Bergen Catholic  (7-1, 4-0) past St. Peters Prep (1-7, 0-4) 37-7 to improve their record to 7-1.

Sanders averaged 16.6 yards per carry and ripped off a 42-yard rushing touchdown in the first quarter to give the Crusaders a 7-0 lead. Also, the future Scarlet Knight registered a 39-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter to extend the Crusaders’ lead to 28-0.

On the defensive side of the ball, the defensive back added one solo tackle on Friday, totaling 31 tackles on the season.

The Oradell, New Jersey, native has recorded a touchdown in seven of eight games this season. Through Week 8, Sanders has registered 77 carries for 645 yards and nine rushing touchdowns, averaging 8.4 yards per attempt.

Rutgers’ four-star 2024 recruit Kaj Sanders led the way for the Crusaders in Week 7, guiding Bergen Catholic to their sixth victory in the 2023 season.

While playing against the Green Knights, Sanders recorded 21 carries for 168 rushing yards and one touchdown, averaging eight yards per carry. The Oradell, New Jersey, native logged season-highs in carries and rushing yards in his Week 7 matchup against St. Joes. Also, Sanders registered the game-winning touchdown, recording a 26-yard touchdown rush, giving the Crusaders their final points.

Throughout week one and two, Sanders has recorded 14 carriers for 93 yards and three touchdowns. The four-star recruit has averaged 6.6 yards per carry in the young season to go along with 18 points.

On the defensive end, Sanders recorded five tackles in Bergen Catholic’s blow-out win. The defensive back now has nine tackles (two solo and seven assists) in the first two weeks of the 2023 season.
