Below, we look FanDuel Sportsbook’s 2024 Open Championship odds entering Saturday’s 3rd round being played in Scotland. Shane Lowry survived a controversial lost-ball ruling, is at 7-under-par 135 and will take a 2-stroke lead into Saturday’s 3rd round at Royal Troon (7,385 yards, par 71). Lowry is the No. 17 player in the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings.

Pre-tournament favorite Scottie Scheffler (+550 to open the week) is tied for 4th place at 2-under after a pair of 70s. At +330, he’s now the 2nd-favorite to win  behind Lowry (+200). Defending champion Brian Harman, who won at 13-under 271, is tied for 38th and made the cut at 4-over after shooting 73-73. He opened at +6600 to win and is now +75000 to repeat as champ.

Shane Lowry (+200)

The 37-year-old pro from Ireland, who opened at +4000 to win and was +600 after an opening 66 Thursday, shot a 2-under 69 Friday. He suffered a double bogey on the 11th when after hitting a provisional ball that didn’t count when his lost ball was found, resulting in an unplayable lie penalty and a double bogey. He’s trying to add his name to the Claret Jug for a 2nd time (won in 2019).

Justin Rose (+650)

The 43-year-old pro, who opened his 21st Open at +15000 to win, shot a 3-under 68 to go with an opening 2-under 69 and is tied for 2nd place, 2 strokes back. The No. 92 player in Golfweek’s rankings is trying for his 2nd major title (2013 U.S. Open).

2024 Open Championship – In the hunt

Before the final group tees off at 10:45 a.m. ET (USA 5-7 a.m. ET; NBC 7 a.m.-3 p.m.), here are 4 other players to watch as they try to chase down the leader.

Daniel Brown (+2500): Golfweek’s No. 226 player starts tied for 2nd place, 2 shots back at 5-under after a 1-over 72 Friday. He opened at +25000 and dropped to +3300 after his opening-round 65.

Dean Burmester (+3000): He starts tied for 4th place, 5 shots back at 2-under after rounds of 71-69. Golfweek’s No. 46 player opened at +12500.

Billy Horschel (+3000): Golfweek’s No. 44 player is also tied for 4th. He posted rounds of 72-68. The University of Florida product opened at +20000.

Xander Schauffele (+1000): He starts tied for 7th place, 6 shots back at 1-under after rounds of 69-72. Golfweek’s No. 2 player opened at +1400 and was at +600 after the 1st round.

2024 Open Championship – Props update

Before the tournament started, we mentioned a few prop bets worth considering a play on. Let’s take a look at 2 of them, plus a Tiger Woods prop.

Nicolai Hojgaard (+150 to be top Dane): He’s at +2, leading Thorbjorn Olesen (+3), twin brother Rasmus Hojgaard (+4) and amateur Jacob Skov Olesen (+5).

Any LIV golfer to win tournament (+350): Burmester is the best shot right now at 2-under with Brooks Koepka at 1-over.

Woods (-330 to miss cut): He shot 79-77 to finish 14-over. He was +230 to make the cut.
