Key fantasy football training camp battles to watch

Here are the most important training camp battles to follow for fantasy football.

All NFL teams have opened training camps, and fantasy football managers get to watch exciting positional battles play out over the coming weeks, helping us make properly informed draft decisions. Here’s a spin around the league’s most important competitions to keep an eye on.

2024 Cleveland Browns training camp report dates have been announced

The team will report for camp in a little over a month

Last week, the Cleveland Browns wrapped up their offseason workout schedule with mandatory minicamp. On Tuesday, the NFL announced the report dates and official start to all 32 teams’ training camp periods. The Browns rookies will report on July 22nd with the veterans reporting the next day on the 23rd.

The team is spending the first week at The Greenbrier again, so they will likely head there shortly after the 23rd. Last year, the team seemed to get a lot out of their experience there, which helped make the team such a tight-knit group.

Heading into training camp, there aren’t many roster questions, but one battle to watch is at the tight end position. Last year was not good for Jordan Akins, but he is the only proven player behind David Njoku. Will someone else step up?

We wait to see if they add to the tight end group or give one of the young, unproven guys a chance to shine in the preseason.

Commanders 2024 training camp: When rookies and veterans will report

The NFL revealed when every team opens training camp next month, including the Commanders.

The NFL revealed the report dates and locations for all 32 NFL teams’ training camps ahead of the 2024 season. The Washington Commanders will hold training camp at the OrthoVirginia Training Center at Commanders Park in Ashburn at the team’s facilities.

Washington’s rookies will report on Thursday, July 18, with the veterans scheduled to report on Tuesday, July 23. Under new head coach Dan Quinn, the Commanders had 100% participation in the offseason program, which pleased Quinn and his coaching staff.

Washington will play three preseason games — all against AFC East teams — and hold joint practices against the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins.

Washington’s NFC East foes Dallas and Philadelphia will open training camp later than Washington and the New York Giants.
