Following a coin flip, the Oklahoma City Thunder will officially enter the 2023 NBA draft lottery with the 12th-best odds.
The Thunder lost a coin flip against the Chicago Bulls, as both teams finished with 40-42 records this season and went 1-1 in the play-in tournament. The Bulls won the 11th-best lottery odds, which has a 3% chance of earning the No. 1 pick.
The Thunder’s season concluded with a play-in loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, which means they’d enter the draft lottery due to not advancing to the playoffs as the eighth seed.
The Thunder have a 1.7% to win the No.1 pick. If the Thunder stays at the No. 12 spot following the lottery, it’ll be the second consecutive draft they’ll own that pick — which they used to select Jalen Williams in last year’s class.
The draft lottery is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, May 16.
