The Chicago Bulls got a big boost from the return of Javonte Green

While there was certainly more to the win for the team, the Bulls got a big boost from the return of Green to Chicago.

Fans of the Chicago Bulls have noticed a familiar face back on the court, with veteran Bulls wing Javonte Green not only back with Chicago, but helping contribute to winning basketball as well.

The Bulls had themselves a very rough week last week, with losses to the Houston Rockets, Boston Celtics, and even the lowly Washington Wizards. But Green’s return helped fuel not just a win over the Indiana Pacers, but a 26-point blowout victory for Chicago. While there was certainly more to the win for the team, the Bulls got a big boost from the return of Green to Chicago.

The hosts of the “Locked On Bulls” podcast, Haize and Pat the Designer, broke down Green’s impact on Chicago’s big win over the Pacers this week in his return.

Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear what the pair had to say about the return of the Radford alum to the Bulls.

Ayo Dosunmu is quietly becoming a star for the Chicago Bulls

While it might be too soon to call the Illinois alum a star in the league, he is certainly a star for the Bulls.

The rise of Chicago Bulls reserve guard Ayo Dosunmu would not have come without the injuries to the starting Bulls backcourt of Lonzo Ball and Zach LaVine. One of the few silver linings of Chicago’s seemingly cursed 2023-24 campaign, Dosunmu is truly coming into his own as an NBA guard.

While it might be too soon to call the Illinois alum a star in the league, he is certainly a star for the Bulls’ roster, joining fellow backup guard Coby White as found money in the face of adversity. Whether Chicago’s front office looks to build around him and White or uses one or both’s contracts as trade assets to land a mega-star, the future of the Bulls is looking a lot brighter than many thought it might.

The hosts of the “CHGO Bulls” podcast recently took a moment to laud Dosunmu’s play with Chicago this season.

When is the lack of action by the Chicago Bulls’ front office going to catch up with them?

It can be hard not to wonder if even a minor move might have been enough to steal a few more wins this season.

After one of the tougher weeks for the Chicago Bulls this season with losses to the Boston Celtics, Houston Rockets, and even the lowly Washington Wizards, it is hard not to look at the team’s front office and wonder how much of this is their fault.

But with the third NBA trade deadline in a row with no action of any sort to speak of coming and going, it can be hard not to wonder if even a minor move might have been enough to steal a few more wins this season. When is the lack of action by the Chicago Bulls’ front office going to catch up with them?

The host of the “Chicago Bulls Central” podcast, Haize, recently broached this question on a recent episode.

Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear what he had to say about the team’s front office and their lack of deadline action.

Chicago Bulls fall three spots in new Athletic weekly NBA power rankings

Last week was not a very good one for the Chicago Bulls.

Last week was not a very good one for the Chicago Bulls‘ designs on making the play-in tournament and, perhaps, the 2024 NBA Playoffs after it. With losses to the Boston Celtics, Houston Rockets, and the lowly Washington Wizards, the Bulls have killed a lot of the momentum they have built since the 2024 trade deadline.

And for this reason, they have fallen from No. 18 in the Athletic’s weekly league power rankings to No. 21, and deservedly so. “The Bulls even have a chance to make it to .500 by the end of the season, but they’ll probably hit the over regardless on their way to the do-or-die play-in showdown” with the Atlanta Hawks, writes Athletic league analyst Zach Harper.

Currently in the Eastern Conference’s ninth-place spot with the Philadelphia 76ers holding a 4.5 game lead over them at the time of writing, Chicago has a greater chance of falling to the dreaded tenth seed by the end of the season with the Atlanta Hawks just a game behind them, as Harper alludes.

“The roster has responded to the injuries and missing players extremely well,” writes Harper — but will it be enough?

It’s time to rant about the Chicago Bulls after their loss to the Washington Wizards

Can it get any lower than that for the Bulls?

There have been some serious silver linings for the Chicago Bulls in an injury-addled 2023-24 campaign. Whether we are talking about the unexpected leaps of Coby White and Ayo Dosunmu, the found money that is Onuralp Bitim, or becoming one of the best clutch clubs in the sport, it’s not been all bad.

But there are occasionally still some serious gut punches to be had for the Bulls as they try to wrap up the NBA’s 2023-24 season. One such smack in the face (metaphorically speaking, of course) was Chicago’s recent loss to the lowly Washington Wizards. Can it get any lower than that for the Bulls?

the folks behind the “Bulls Central” YouTube channel recently put together a clip breaking down what went wrong in the Wizards loss, and why we ought to be irked by it.

Take a look at the clip embedded above to get their take on a rough loss in a rougher season.

What are the Chicago Bulls’ biggest remaining concerns over the final 11 games of the 2023-24 NBA season?

Do they want to focus on getting healthy for next season? Playing the youth movement of Coby White, Ayo Dosunmu, and Onuralp Bitim as much as they can?

What are the Chicago Bulls‘ biggest remaining concerns over the final 11 games of their 2023-24 NBA season? Do they want to focus on getting healthy for next season? Playing the youth movement of Coby White, Ayo Dosunmu, and Onuralp Bitim as much as they can?

Could they try to cycle talent through the team in the hopes of hitting on some more depth talent? And what about the play-in tournament and the 2024 NBA Playoffs beyond it? Does Chicago have a chance at either? Should they be trying to make a push to improve their odds to such an end?

To try to give us a good answer to all these questions, the hosts of the “Locked On Bulls” podcast, Haize and Pat the Designer, took a moment on a recent episode to outline what they think are the largest remaining issues for the Bulls to work through before the 2024 NBA offseason.

Chicago Bulls unsurprisingly listed among biggest 2024 trade deadline regrets

Is non-buyer’s remorse a thing?

To the surprise of no one outside of the Chicago Bulls‘ front office, the storied ball club has ignominiously found itself included in yet another article highlighting the biggest regrets of the NBA’s 2024 trade deadline. Bleacher Report’s Zach Buckley has the Bulls on the list for “snoozing through the deadline (again)” after Chicago stood pat for the third consecutive deadline.

“This group tops out at mediocrity, and given how many veterans are in the rotation, it’s hard to even envision the ceiling raising any higher,” writes Buckley. “That’s why this front office’s unwavering commitment to this core is so baffling for external observers, who’ve long called upon the club to blow up the roster and start over.”

“Chicago had a .471 winning percentage at the time of the trade deadline,” notes the B/R analyst. “Its post-deadline win rate is .526, which is better but still nowhere in the neighborhood of championship contention.”

“Most franchises try avoiding the NBA’s middle class like the plague,” he writes. “The Bulls, on the other hand, are busy crafting workout plans for all the mileage they apparently intend to log on the treadmill of mediocrity.”

“This was Chicago’s (latest) chance to choose a direction, either by loading up for a playoff run or unloading win-now talent for win-later assets. Instead, the Bulls never turned and simply plowed into that fork in the road. Again.”

Are Ayo Dosunmu and Coby White the right duo for the Chicago Bulls to build around?

There is more than one way to build a contender.

In many corners of Chicago Bulls media, it seems all but decided that guards Ayo Dosunmu and Coby White are the players that the Bulls’ front office ought to be building around in the future. But are these two young players really good enough to be the focal point of a Chicago rebuild?

If the goal of the franchise is to get back to title contention, there is a legit argument to be made that these two guards simply are not good enough to get the Bulls into such rarefied air. But there is more than one way to build a contender, and having a player or two to trade for a superstar certainly is one of them.

To talk over what exactly the role of Dosunmu and White could be in a Bulls rebuild moving forward, the host of the “Chicago Bulls Central” podcast, Haize, took a closer look on a recent episode.

Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear what they had to say.

Billy Donovan compares Bulls’ Coby White, Ayo Dosunmu to Joakim Noah

Dosunmu and White are the future of the Bulls organization moving forward — and for exactly the sort of reasons Donovan notes.

When the NBA team you play for happens to be coached by a man who won national titles at the NCAA level says you remind him of one of the key players who helped to make that possible, things are going well for you.

And, in the midst of the 2024 NCAA tourney, Chicago Bulls head coach Billy Donovan went out of his way to say that Bulls guards Ayo Dosunmu and Coby White remind him of Florida Gators national champion big man Joakim Noah. For the younger basketball fans out there, that is very high praise indeed, even if Noah’s heyday was more than 15 years in the past.

But Dosunmu and White are the future of the Bulls organization moving forward — and for exactly the sort of reasons Donovan notes.

Speaking on a recent episode of their show, the hosts of the “CHGO Bulls” podcast took some time to let us know why this is the case. Check it out above!

Coby White and Ayo Dosunmu have proven to be foundational for the Bulls

The questions of what to do next in terms of roster building still lingers, but the hardest part of a rebuild has been solved.

The Chicago Bulls have been in need of a rebuild for some time now, but the ball club appears to have lucked into the players they would have needed to find by stripping it down without trying.

And while you will find few NBA analysts who will tell you that this is a wise way to go about retooling a roster, so far, the rise of guards Coby White and Ayo Dosunmu has taken a lot of pressure off of the Bulls’ front office. The questions of what to do next in terms of roster building still lingers, but the hardest part of a rebuild has been solved by good luck as much as anything.

On a recent episode, the hosts of the “Locked On Bulls” podcast, Haize and Pat the Designer, sat down to talk us though all of the above in the video embedded below.
