2022 Philadelphia Phillies World Series, win total, pennant and division odds

Looking at the 2022 MLB futures for the Philadelphia Phillies, including odds for the World Series, pennant, division and projected win total.

The Philadelphia Phillies head into the 2022 season with great expectations after a busy shopping spree to add a little brawn to the lineup, while helping the bullpen improve tremendously.

The Phillies weren’t terribly far away in 2021, finishing 82-80 — just 6.5 games back of the eventual World Series champion Atlanta Braves in the NL East. So those late-game pitching situations and a little added pop will certainly help close the gap.

Below, we look at the Philadelphia Phillies MLB futures odds, including their projected 2022 win total and World Series odds at Tipico Sportsbook.

Philadelphia Phillies’ 2022 World Series odds

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated Wednesday, March 30 at 7:40 a.m. ET.

Odds: +3000 (bet $100 to win $3,000)

Philadelphia is expected to challenge for a playoff spot, and with the expanded postseason format, they’re a rather attractive value at this price. The Atlanta Braves ended up winning 88 games before meandering through the playoffs to win a title, and Philly could be the ’22 version of that squad.

At +3000, Philadelphia has an implied probability of winning the World Series of 3.23% or 30/1 fractional odds.

The Arizona Diamondbacks, Baltimore Orioles and Pittsburgh Pirates have the longest odds at +20000.

Taking the PHILLIES (+3000) to win the World Series for a 30-to-1 payoff is worth a small-unit play, as this represents good value. If I am tying up money in a long-term investment like a futures bet, at least make it worth it.

Philadelphia Phillies’ 2022 playoff odds

Will Phillies make the playoffs: Yes +100 | No -120

The Phillies will benefit from some offseason moves and rule changes in 2022. The team inked OF Kyle Schwarber, and he figures to see plenty of at-bats. The team also added 3B/OF Nick Castellanos, who will hopefully hit plenty of 3-run homers to make it 4-0. Power is key, especially in the NL East.

Philly also will be one of many National League teams to benefit from the universal DH, playing in the bandbox known as Citizens Bank Park, or “The Vault”. The Phils were just 6.5 games back from winning the NL East, and eight games back of the final wild-card spot. The offensive additions, rule changes and addition of relief pitchers Jeurys Familia, Brad Hand and Corey Knebel will help the back end of the bullpen, preserving leads while helping the Phils to more wins.

Full team name’s 2022 win total

Over/Under: 84.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Again, the Phillies won 82 games last season, failing to qualify for the postseason. The team made some really nice moves to bolster the lineup, as well as the ‘pen. That should at least lead to a three-game improvement over last season’s performance to get them over the hump.

Odds to win NL East Division

  • New York Mets +135 (bet $100 to win $135)
  • Atlanta Braves +140 (bet $100 to win $140)
  • Philadelphia Phillies +425 (bet $100 to win $425)
  • Miami Marlins +1500 (bet $100 to win $1,500)
  • Washington Nationals +4000 (bet $100 to win $4,000)

The NL East is basically a three-horse race, and the Mets made some inroads with offseason moves. The Braves won the World Series, but lost Freddie Freeman, which is a huge loss. That gets Atlanta a lot closer to Philadelphia than these odds indicate.

Philadelphia is the best value on the board here, as the Nationals do not have a prayer, the Marlins are gonna Marlin, and the Mets and Braves are almost even-money. You have a chance to multiply your initial winnings by four or more, and if you’re going to tie your money up for the summer, you might as well get a big payday when the season winds down.

Odds to win National League

Odds: +1300 (bet $100 to win $1300)

I like the Phillies to go Over the win total and to make the playoffs. I even feel very good about Philadelphia having a more than good chance to win the NL East. However, I am not feeling them to go to the World Series.

I mean, RHP Zack Wheeler and RHP Aaron Nola are decent front-end rotation guys, but it quickly drops off with LHP Ranger Suarez, RHP Zach Eflin and journeyman RHP Kyle Gibson filling out the starting five. It’s even worse if one of these guys get hurt, as there isn’t a lot of organizational depth. It’s even more of an emergency if Wheeler or Nola go down for any length of time.

The pitching should be good enough to be third or better in the NL East, and be one of the upper-echelon teams in the NL. But the World Series? Yeah, that’s a stretch. AVOID.

2022 Chicago White Sox World Series, win total, pennant and division odds

Looking at the 2022 MLB futures for the Chicago White Sox, including odds for the World Series, pennant, division and projected win total.

After a 93-win season in 2021, the Chicago White Sox hope to take the next step and make regular-season success turn into postseason wins. They easily won the AL Central last year, winning the division for the first time since 2008. However, rolling through the division and the regular season, the postseason ended quickly as they were bounced in the playoffs in four games by the Houston Astros.

They also had a relatively quiet offseason. They added right-handed relievers Kendall Graveman and Joe Kelly. They brought back reliever Craig Kimbrel and re-signed 2B Leury Garcia. 2B Cesar Hernandez and P Carlos Rodon departed in free agency.

They hope by returning a top-five offense and pitching staff, and reinforcing the bullpen, they can make a deep run in 2022. Below, we look at the White Sox’ MLB futures odds, including their projected 2022 win total and World Series odds at Tipico Sportsbook.

Chicago White Sox’s 2022 World Series odds

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated Wednesday, March 30 at 7:45 a.m. ET.

Odds: +1200 (bet $100 to win $1200)

The White Sox are tied with three other teams with the fourth-shortest odds in the majors to win the championship in 2022. The Los Angeles Dodgers (+480) are the favorites followed by the Houston Astros (+900) and Toronto Blue Jays (+900). Chicago is not a favorite but is clearly among the contenders.

The Baltimore Orioles and Pittsburgh, both at +30000, have the longest odds in the majors to win the World Series.

At +1200, Chicago has an implied probability of winning the World Series of 7.69% or 12/1 fractional odds.

As they should be able to roll through their division and into the postseason and as they have one of the most complete rosters in the entire league, wagering something on the WHITE SOX (+1200) is worth a little action. They are talented enough to win it all and have long enough odds to give you nice payout.

Exclusive USA TODAY Network offer: Deposit $10 or more, get $200 in instant bet credits at Tipico Sportsbook! New customer offer in CO and NJ. 21+, see Tipico.com for Terms and Conditions. Place your legal, online sports bets at Tipico. Let’s make this interesting. Bet now!

Chicago White Sox’s 2022 playoff odds

Will White Sox make the playoffs: Yes -400 | No +300

The White Six won the AL Central by 13 games last season. They are by far the best team in the division still. Their offense was one of the best in the league and they return basically their whole lineup. They have a strong starting staff and bolstered the bullpen in the offseason.

No other team in the division is projected to even finish the season at .500, so they are as close to a lock for the playoffs as there is in the league.

However, at -400, this normally isn’t a price worth wagering. PASS.

Chicago White Sox’s 2022 win total

Over/Under: 91.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

They finished with 93 regular-season wins in 2021. That will be hard to top, but they managed to do that while their pricey ace Dallas Keuchel only won nine games and posted an ERA of 5.28, the highest of his career. He had an ERA of 1.99 in 2020, and before last season, had not posted an ERA higher than 3.75 since 2016.

They posted 52 wins at home in 2021. Every division winner in the AL posted at least 50 home victories. But the White Sox were the only division winner in the majors to post a losing record on the road. If they can repeat a 50-win record at home and simply finish 42-39 on the road, they will hit the Over.

Take OVER 91.5 (-110).

Odds to win AL Central Division

  • Chicago White Sox -220 (bet $220 to win $100)
  • Detroit Tigers +600 (bet $100 to win $600)
  • Minnesota Twins +600 (bet $100 to win $600)
  • Cleveland Guardians +1000 (bet $100 to win $1000)
  • Kansas City Royals +1500 (bet $100 to win $1500)

Chicago’s implied odds of winning the division is 68.75% or 5/11 fractional odds. No other team is projected to even reach .500 other than the White Sox. They will have to screw up big to lose this division.

It is almost a sure win, but just outside of the price range you want to wager a favorite to win the division. PASS.

Odds to win American League

Odds: +550 (bet $100 to win $550)

With an easy path to the postseason, they will have to fabricate intensity to prepare for the postseason. That said, they should have a top-five offense and should have a top-five pitching staff, making them arguably the most complete team in the league. Only the Astros (+425) and Blue Jays (+425) have shorter odds. They are not the favorite but have the talent to do it, so it is worth it to BET WHITE SOX (+550).

2022 New York Mets World Series, win total, pennant and division odds

Looking at the 2022 MLB futures for the New York Mets including odds for the World Series, pennant, division and projected win total.

The now-spending-at-elite-level New York Mets struggled offensively in posting a 77-85 (.475) mark in 2021. Only three teams scored less than the Mets’ 636 runs (3.93 per game). New York sported an average defense, but top-third figures on the mound. Its top hurler — SP Jacob deGrom — logged a minuscule 1.08 ERA, but forearm tightness limited him to just 92 innings pitched.

When this much money is spent, much is expected so the 2022 Mets — with a retooled roster and a new manager — are among the most talked about (and bet upon) teams this spring. Below, we look at the New York Mets MLB futures odds, including their projected 2022 win total and World Series odds at Tipico Sportsbook.

New York Mets 2022 World Series odds

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated Tuesday, March 29 at 10:08 p.m. ET.

Odds: +1200 (bet $100 to win $1,200)

New York is tied with the Chicago White Sox, New York Yankees and Milwaukee Brewers for the fourth shortest odds to win it all. The Los Angeles Dodgers are the favorites at +480, followed by the Houston Astros and Toronto Blue Jays at +900. At +1200, the Mets have an implied probability of winning the World Series of 7.69% or 12/1 fractional odds.

Peg the Mets as worth a watch on the Series odds,  but PASS  on the current tag. A New York play becomes more palatable at +1325 or +1350.

New York Mets 2022 playoff odds

Will Mets make the playoffs: Yes -310 | No +240

This amounts to a 75.76% projection. This is too aggressive for a team that may well be battling the Braves and that does have some downside projections that place the Mets around .500.

The No play equates to a 29.41% probability. No (+240) is a lean due to a fairly deep NL middle.

New York Mets 2022 win total

Over/Under: 90.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Gone from a year ago are SS Javier Baez, SP Marcus Stroman, SP Noah Syndergaard, and SP Rich Hill. Newcomers include SP Max Scherzer, OF Starling Marte, OF Mark Canha, 2B Eduardo Escobar, and RP Adam Ottavino.

The Mets’ projected payroll is $244M (spotrac.com) and there is reason for optimism. A key is if SS Francisco Lindor (2.7 WAR in 2021) can return to production levels that produced 5-8 WAR annually with the Cleveland Guardians.

Buck Showalter joins the Mets as their new manager. Showalter has a strong track record, having taken five teams to the playoffs. But he also runs a tight ship, and unmet early expectations could create a pressurized fishbowl atmosphere where one has existed all-too-easily before.

BACK THE UNDER 90.5 (-110).

  • Washington Nationals +5000 (bet $100 to win $5,000)

New York’s implied probability of winning the NL East is 42.55% or 27/20 fractional odds. The Braves are a near neck-and-neck proposition, and the Phillies have taken on a bit of money lately. Would take Mets +145; otherwise, PASS.

Odds to win National League

Odds: +500 (bet $100 to win $500)

PASS. Again, as with the World Series odds, the Mets are perhaps worth a line watch here. Other NL contenders after the Dodgers at +230: Brewers at +550, Braves at +600, Padres at +750. Getting New York more in the middle of that group (+625?) would make for enough leverage.

2022 Minnesota Twins World Series, win total, pennant and division odds

Looking at the 2022 MLB futures for the Minnesota Twins, including odds for the World Series, pennant, division and projected win total.

After winning the American League Central division title in the shortened 2020 season, the Minnesota Twins took a big step back in 2021. Their 73-89 record put them in the division cellar.

The biggest splash the Twins made this offseason was signing SS Carlos Correa. The team also acquired 3B Gio Urshela and C Gary Sanchez in exchange for Josh Donaldson and traded for RHP Sonny Gray to help stabilize the starting rotation.

Below, we look at the Minnesota Twins MLB futures odds, including their projected 2022 win total and World Series odds at Tipico Sportsbook.

Minnesota Twins 2022 World Series odds

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated Tuesday, March 29 at 4:57 p.m. ET.

Odds: +4000 (bet $100 to win $4,000)

The Twins are very strong up the middle, with Correa joined by 2B Jorge Polanco, who hit 33 homers in 2021, and CF Byron Buxton. The health of Buxton will be key to the team’s succes,s but considering he has only reached 350 plate appearances once in his career, he’s likely to miss time at some point.

Gray will headline a rotation that has a couple of players on the rise in SP Joe Ryan and SP Bailey Ober. The back of the rotation is a huge question mark though.

SP Dylan Bundy, who put up a 6.06 ERA last season, appears to be locked in for one spot, while the recently signed Chris Archer is a true wild card after making just five starts in the last two seasons combined.

Minnesota should be better than last season, and could be fighting for a playoff spot down the stretch. However, this doesn’t look like a team built for a title run, and it’s probably best to PASS on TWINS (+4000).

Bet now!

Minnesota Twins 2022 playoff odds

Will Twins make the playoffs: Yes +200 No -250

Minnesota looks like a .500 team as it stands now, and with six teams from each league making the playoffs, they have a decent chance of being in the mix for a wild card spot. Therefore, TWINS +200 looks like a pretty nice gamble.

Minnesota Twins 2022 win total

Over/Under: 79.5 (O: -120 | U: +100)

Minnesota fell short of expectations last season when they won just 73 games. But they finished pretty strong, going 30-28 down the stretch even after trading away Nelson Cruz and Jose Berrios at the deadline.

The offense looks pretty solid, with Correa adding another impact bat to a team that returns a couple of 30-HR hitters in Polanco and 1B Miguel Sano.  OF Alex Kiriloff is healthy following season-ending wrist surgery in July and 3B Jose Miranda should be a key contributor after putting up a .973 OPS between Double-A and Triple-A last season.

The Twins final win total will end up within just a few games of this line, but we’ll lean OVER 79.5 (-120).

Odds to win AL Central Division

  • Chicago White Sox -220 (bet $220 to win $100)
  • Minnesota Twins +600 (bet $100 to win $600)
  • Detroit Tigers +600 (bet $100 to win $600)
  • Cleveland Guardians +1000 (bet $100 to win $1,000)
  • Kansas City Royals +1500 (bet $100 to win $1,500)

Chicago won the division by 13 games in 2021 and finished 20 games ahead of Minnesota. They look like the clear favorites again, and the Twins are unlikely to push up toward 90 wins. Therefore it’s probably best to PASS.

Odds to win American League

Odds: +2000 (bet $100 to win $2,000)

The Twins should improve upon last year’s mark and could be a surprising contender if things break right, such as Buxton staying healthy and the team getting some value out of the back of the rotation. But even if they land a spot in the playoffs, that lack of pitching depth will make it pretty tough to go on a deep run.

Minnesota is a long shot to take home the AL pennant, and they aren’t worth investing in at this price. PASS.

2022 Atlanta Braves World Series, win total, pennant and division odds

Looking at the 2022 MLB futures for the Atlanta Braves, including odds for the World Series, pennant, division and projected win total.

The Atlanta Braves hope to be the first team since the 1998-2000 New York Yankees to win back-to-back World Series titles.

Below, we look at the Atlanta Braves’ MLB futures odds, including their projected 2022 win total and World Series odds at Tipico Sportsbook.

Atlanta upset the 2020 champion Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series before beating the 2017 champion Houston Astros to win the 2021 World Series.

The Braves will try to run it back without former 1B Freddie Freeman. The 2020 National League MVP signed with the Dodgers after being unable to work out an extension with Atlanta.

The Braves are banking on the return of OF/DH Ronald Acuña Jr. and the maturation of uber-talented young starting pitchers in its rotation. Can Atlanta repeat?

Atlanta Braves’ 2022 World Series odds

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated Tuesday, March 29 at 12:50 p.m. ET.

Odds: +1300 (bet $100 to win $1,300)

The BRAVES (+1300)  to win the World Series is definitely a ticket worth holding in your account even though no team has won back-to-back titles since the Yankees won three straight from 1998-2000.

Atlanta should be better this season since its lineup is stacked and there’s a world where the Braves have a top-five rotation in baseball.

Atlanta’s decision to depart with Freeman might not sit well with the fans, but the Braves replaced him quite nicely by trading for 28-year-old 1B Matt Olson, who has career averages of .360 wOBA and 132 wRC+.

That’s the only major move Atlanta made to a lineup that was good enough to win the World Series last year.

Acuña could return in May after being sidelined since July 2021 with a torn ACL. He’s one of MLB’s top-five players when healthy and his return combined with the addition of Olson more than makes up for the loss of Freeman.

SP Max Fried is one of my sleepers to win the 2022 NL Cy Young. SPs Ian Anderson and Kyle Wright are former first-round draft picks in their mid-20s with electric stuff. SP Charlie Morton is a cagy vet who had the second-highest WAR of his 14-year career in 2021.

On top of that, Braves SP Mike Soroka should return at some point this season after missing the last two years by tearing his Achillies twice. The 24-year-old former first-round pick was an All-Star and sixth in the NL Cy Young race his rookie season in 2019.

I wouldn’t go hard but I condone a SPRINKLE on the BRA,VES (+1300)  to win the World Series.

Atlanta Braves’ 2022 playoff odds

Will the Braves make the playoffs: Yes -300 | No +240

PASS  because there are enough good teams in the NL to make this -300 future a complete no-go. A -300 future that pays in six months has to be a lock and the Braves’ “yes, to make the playoffs” (-300) is by no means a lock.

Atlanta Braves’ 2022 win total

Over/Under: 90.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

BET the BRAVES OVER 90.5 REGULAR-SEASON WINS (-110).

Not only have the Braves won the NL East four straight years and gone 3-1 Over/Under its regular-season win total in that span, but Atlanta was better than its 88-73 overall record indicated last season.

For instance, the Braves had the fourth-worst luck in the MLB at minus-6, which essentially means Atlanta had six fewer wins in 2021 based on run differential.

Additionally, the Braves played sub-.500 ball before the All-Star game but went 44-28 in the second half after Fried became a legit ace. Fried struggled in the first half, only going 6-5 with a 4.71 ERA and 1.39 WHIP. But, post-All-Star break, Fried was 8-2 with a 1.74 ERA and 0.85 WHIP.

We can pencil in a top-10 season for the Braves’ lineup as a whole so if Fried and the rest of Atlanta’s rotation holds up its end of the bargin then the BRAVES will go OVER 90.5 WINS (-110).

Odds to win NL East Division

  • New York Mets +135 (bet $100 to win $135)
  • Atlanta Braves +140 (bet $100 to win $140)
  • Philadelphia Phillies +425 (bet $100 to win $425)
  • Miami Marlins +1500 (bet $100 to win $1,500)
  • Washington Nationals +4000 (bet $100 to win $4,000)

On paper, there are three teams that could realistically win the NL East: Mets, Braves and Phillies. And while I think the wrong team is favored, Atlanta’s division winner prop would have to be at least +250 for me to take a stab.

PASS.

Odds to win National League

Odds: +600 (bet $100 to win $600)

Since I’m already sprinkling on Atlanta to win its second consecutive World Series, I’ll PASS ON THE BRAVES TO WIN THE NL.

You could make a strong case for either Atlanta’s future to win the title or the pennant, but I’d prefer the former and hedge before the World Series if need be.

New York Yankees World Series, win total, pennant and division odds

Looking at the 2022 MLB futures for the New York Yankees, including odds for the World Series, pennant, division and projected win total.

The 2021 New York Yankees played .630 baseball (46-27) in the second half of the season and finished 92-70, but were ousted from the playoffs by the Boston Red Sox in an American League Wild Card Game.

The Yankees were third in the AL with a 3.76 ERA, but New York often fizzled for long stretches at the plate and was a below-average team defensively.

Gone are 1B Luke Voit, 3B Gio Urshella, and C Gary Sanchez. Newcomers include 3B Josh Donaldson and SS Isiah Kiner-Falefa, while injured-in-2021 SP Luis Severino and OF Aaron Hicks are expected to be back.

The net result is an assessment that the Yanks will be in the mix of contenders in a tough AL East. Below, we look at the New York Yankees MLB futures odds, including their projected 2022 win total and World Series odds at Tipico Sportsbook.

New York Yankees’ 2022 World Series odds

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated Monday, March 28 at 3:06 p.m. ET.

Odds: +1200 (bet $100 to win $1,200)

New York has the fourth-shortest odds to win it all. The Los Angeles Dodgers (+480) are the favorites, followed by the Houston Astros (+900) and Toronto Blue Jays (+900).

At +1200, the Yankees have an implied probability of winning the World Series of 7.69% or 12/1 fractional odds.

Backing the YANKEES (+1200) to win the World Series for a 12-to-1 payoff is worth a partial-unit wager. There is enough of a lean on New York improving enough defensively and some offensively that the Yankees can get into the October scrum. The New York bullpen projects as a strength, and that adds value to the chances in short series.

New York Yankees’ 2022 playoff odds

Will Yankees make the playoffs: Yes -400 | No +300

Peg the true odds here as being buried in the middle. So, a PASS  is in order. A -400 Yes wager needs an over-80% probability to have some value leverage. That’s too pricey.

New York Yankees’ 2022 win total

Over/Under: 92.5 (O: +100 | U: -125)

TAKE THE OVER 92.5 (+100). This is a competitive price for a club that was clicking after the break last summer. The emergence of starting pitchers Jordan Montgomery (3.83 ERA in 2021) and Nestor Cortes, Jr. (3.07 ERA as a starter) make for some expected depth in a division where that may loom large.

Odds to win AL East Division

  • Toronto Blue Jays +170 (bet $100 to win $170)
  • New York Yankees +230 (bet $100 to win $230)
  • Tampa Bay Rays +240 (bet $100 to win $240)
  • Boston Red Sox +480 (bet $100 to win $480)
  • Baltimore Orioles +20000 (bet $100 to win $20,000)

If you can work yourself to a place where you figure New York as a 33% proposition to win the East, there is value here. Figuring on some intra-division regression for the Rays (who went 51-25 vs. East foes last season) and enough fade to the Boston Red Sox, there is leverage to be gained on this YANKEES (+230)  play.

Odds to win American League

Odds: +550 (bet $100 to win $550)

The Houston Astros (+425) and Chicago White Sox (+550) get added to the top AL East squads and color the pennant bet a little differently. I would want +600 on New York, so a PASS is suggested.

2022 Tampa Bay Rays World Series, win total, pennant and division odds

Looking at the 2022 MLB futures for the Tampa Bay Rays, including odds for the World Series, pennant, division and projected win total.

Last season, the Tampa Bay Rays had their first 100-win season and entered the American League postseason as the 1-seed with home-field advantage.

But the Rays’ third-straight playoff trip ended short of a title again, this time in a 3-1 AL Division Series loss to the division rival Boston Red Sox.

Below, we look at the Tampa Bay Rays’ MLB futures odds, including their projected 2022 win total and World Series odds at Tipico Sportsbook.

The Rays didn’t make much offseason noise in free agency, but Tampa re-signed a lot of its core players to 1-year deals to avoid arbitration.

Can the Rays get back to the World Series for the second time in three years and third time in franchise history?

Tampa Bay Rays’ 2022 World Series odds

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated Monday, March 28 at 2:38 p.m. ET.

Odds: +1300 (bet $100 to win $1,300)

SPRINKLE on RAYS (+1300)  to win the World Series because there’s so much upside with this team.

SP Shane Baz is listed as one of the rookie pitching breakout candidates entering 2022 and is MLB’s 11th overall prospect. Baz is expected to return in May from arthroscopic elbow surgery and is a future top of the rotation guy for the Rays.

Tampa’s starting rotation is its biggest question mark as SP Tyler Glasnow isn’t expected to return from Tommy John surgery. The Rays are relying on breakout seasons from Baz and SPs Shane McClanahan and Luis Patiño for their rotation to be elite.

However, all four of the batters at the top of Tampa’s lineup could be in the All-Star Game and SS Wander Franco could be in the AL MVP discussion.

Tampa’s organization has been one of the best in baseball for years now and there’s value in a RAYS (+1300)  ticket to win the World Series.

Tampa Bay Rays’ 2022 playoff odds

Will the Rays make the playoffs: Yes -220 | No +175

PASS  because there’s rarely value in a future with a -220 line. If Tampa gets out to a slow start perhaps you could get a better number for the Rays to make the playoffs in-season.

Either way, there are too many juicy futures to sprinkle before risking more than 2-to-1 on your potential return for Tampa to make its fourth straight postseason.

Tampa Bay Rays’ 2022 win total

Over/Under: 89.5 (O: -125 | U: -105)

BET the RAYS OVER 89.5 wins (-125).

On paper, Tampa’s recent success doesn’t make much sense but the Rays have cashed five straight regular-season win bets entering 2022.

Tampa has as much upside as any team not named the New York Yankees or the Los Angeles Dodgers. Also, the Rays excel in two areas I look at before betting a team’s regular-season win total: Organizational depth and bullpen pitching.

Most seamheads rank Tampa’s farm system no lower than fifth in the MLB and the Rays have six prospects in the top-100, according to FanGraphs.

Tampa’s bullpen was undoubtedly the best in baseball last season and there’s no reason for regressions. The Rays’ bullpen led the MLB in WAR and FIP and ranked fifth in exit velocity and fourth in hard-hit rate (per FanGraphs).

Finally, Tampa was actually slightly better than its record indicates in 2021. For instance, the Rays had a minus-1 luck factor, which means Tampa should have had another win on its resume based on run differential.

BET the RAYS OVER 89.5 wins (-125)  because they have the depth to sustain injuries and the arms in the bullpen to win close games in a tough division.

Win your fantasy baseball league with BaseballHQ.com. For decades, BHQ has been helping players just like you win! Use the couple code SBW22 for $15 OFF a Draft Prep or full-season subscription. New customer offer; expires 4/30/2022. Subscribe today and start winning!

Odds to win AL East Division

  • Toronto Blue Jays +170 (bet $100 to win $170)
  • New York Yankees +230 (bet $100 to win $230)
  • Tampa Bay Rays +240 (bet $100 to win $240)
  • Boston Red Sox +480 (bet $100 to win $480)
  • Baltimore Orioles +20000 (bet $100 to win $20,000)

The range of outcomes in the AL East is too wide to justify wagering on the Rays (+240) to win the division. That said, Tampa should be the favorite to win the AL East so, in that sense, there’s value in the Rays (+240).

But, if Toronto improves as the market expects, Yankees SP Gerrit Cole is in Cy Young form and Boston’s lineup continues to rake then the AL East race will be a crapshoot.

PASS ON AL EAST ACTION.

Odds to win American League

Odds: +650 (bet $100 to win $650)

PASS  because I like the juiciness of Tampa’s World Series ticket more so than its odds to win the pennant. If the Rays get into the fall classic then there’ll be some hedge options available, if that’s your sort of thing.

2022 Boston Red Sox World Series, win total, pennant and division odds

Looking at the 2022 MLB futures for the Boston Red Sox, including odds for the World Series, pennant, division and projected win total.

On July 2 last season, the Boston Red Sox won their eighth consecutive game and were 4½ games up in the American League East Division and playing .627 baseball (52-31). Though the Red Sox would scuffle a bit in July and August, they made the postseason as a 92-win wild card team. Boston advanced to the AL Championship Series, losing to the Houston Astros.

Bolstered by a payroll of projected payroll of $218M, a solid roster returns and Boston should again be in the mix to contend in the AL East. Below, we look at the Boston Red Sox MLB futures odds, including their projected 2022 win total and World Series odds at Tipico Sportsbook.

Boston Red Sox 2022 World Series odds

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated Monday, March 28  at 12:18 p.m. ET.

Odds: +1500 (bet $100 to win $1,500)

Boston has the 10th-shortest odds to win it all. The Los Angeles Dodgers (+480) are the favorites, followed by the Houston Astros (+900) and Toronto Blue Jays (+900). At +1500, Boston has an implied probability of winning the World Series of 6.25% or 15/1 fractional odds.

New on the roster this year are 2B Trevor Story. RHP Michael Wacha, LHP Rich Hill, and LHP James Paxton. Gone are LHP Eduardo Rodriguez, OF Hunter Renfroe, and RHP Adam Ottavino.

At 5.1 runs per game and 4.6 runs allowed, the 2021 Red Sox were perhaps a few games too far out over their skis with 92 wins last season. As currently constructed, Boston is a shadow of the elite defensive club it was three or four seasons ago. Add in some depth and overall talent questions for a starting rotation that logged a 4.51 ERA in the second half, and the 15-to-1 return comes up a bit short of providing value. PASS.

[tipico]

Boston Red Sox 2022 playoff odds

Will the Red Sox make the playoffs: Yes -120 | No +100

AVOIDING  this play makes the most sense, but the lean is on No. If the price gets a tad more attractive, the fade — or No bet — has some leverage here.

Boston Red Sox 2022 win total

Over/Under: 85.5 (O: -120 | U: -105)

The slight step back from last year and the competitiveness of the AL East (four clubs with AL champion odds of 9-to-1 or better) make for a projected total right around 85.

TAKE THE UNDER 85.5 (-105), but consider waiting out a better price.

Odds to win AL East Division

  • Toronto Blue Jays +170 (bet $100 to win $170)
  • New York Yankees +230 (bet $100 to win $230)
  • Tampa Bay Rays +240 (bet $100 to win $240)
  • Boston Red Sox +480 (bet $100 to win $480)
  • Baltimore Orioles +20000 (bet $100 to win $20,000)

PASS. But, even though Boston projects as an also-ran, there is enough wiggle room and the division figures to be tight enough that a tag around +500 or +510 gets this proposition into interesting territory.

Odds to win American League

Odds: +900 (bet $100 to win $900)

Boston is outside the top group of contenders here, which amounts to their East rivals (Yankees, Blue Jays, Rays) plus the Houston Astros and Chicago White Sox. Other second-tier options look better: PASS.

The preseason look for the Sox amounts to a fade all-around. Though, there is some wavering on the payout for the East flag, just because of the chaos that may well be at play in a four-horse race.

2022 Cincinnati Reds World Series, win total, pennant and division odds

Looking at the 2022 MLB futures for the Cincinnati Reds, including odds for the World Series, pennant, division and projected win total.

The Cincinnati Reds didn’t quite put it together down the stretch in 2021, finishing third in the NL Wild-Card race behind the St. Louis Cardinals and Los Angeles Dodgers. The Reds ended the season 83-79.

Below, we look at the Cincinnati Reds MLB futures odds, including their projected 2022 win total and World Series odds at Tipico Sportsbook.

The team’s recent transactions have been mind-boggling moves to the fans, who are questioning the front office’s desire to win.

The Reds duo of top-tier outfielders, Jesse Winker and Nick Castellanos, were both in the All-Star Game a season ago, yet the former was traded to Seattle and the latter signed a free-agent deal with Philadelphia. Third baseman and 2018 All-Star Eugenio Suárez was also part of the trade to Seattle.

The Reds will be bracing for the future, but many of their younger players could step up to the plate and exceed expectations.

Cincinnati Reds’ 2022 World Series odds

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated Monday, March 28 at 5:27 a.m. ET.

Odds: +7000 (bet $100 to win $7,000)

Cincinnati is tied with the Texas Rangers and Cleveland Guardians for the 19th-shortest odds to win it all. The Los Angeles Dodgers (+480) and Houston Astros (+900) are the two favorites.

At +7000, the Reds have an implied probability of winning the World Series of 1.41% or 70/1 fractional odds.

The Arizona Diamondbacks, Baltimore Orioles, and Pittsburgh Pirates have the longest odds with the former at +20000 and the latter two at +30000.

Backing the Reds (+7000) to win the World Series for a 70-to-1 payoff isn’t worth the potentially massive return, especially considering their recent transactions show they’re more so playing for the future. AVOID.

Cincinnati Reds’ 2022 playoff odds

Will Reds make the playoffs: Yes +400 | No -599

The Reds have made the playoffs just once since the 2014 season, and that was during the league’s shortened 60-game season in 2020.

Along with trading Suarez and Winker, Cincinnati sent SP Sonny Gray to Minnesota this offseason. It lost 4 former All-Star players prior to the season, bringing in a plethora of prospects.

The Reds did little to add to their pitching woes, including losing SP Wade Miley (12-7, 3.37 ERA last season) to the Chicago Cubs on waivers.

RP Lucas Sims, the projected closer, posted 4.40 ERA a season ago with just 7 saves in 13 save opportunities. Cincinnati’s bullpen was a problem last season and seems like it will continue into 2022.

That said, I don’t think Sims and Co. will be able to consistently close out games and can’t see betting the Reds (+400) to make the playoffs.

Betting -599 to not make the postseason isn’t worth the risk at the price either. PASS.

Cincinnati Reds’ 2022 win total

Over/Under: 75.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

BET UNDER 75.5 (-110).

The Reds are moving into a rebuild, and the last several weeks didn’t do them much justice. They didn’t pay Castellanos, who is now with the Phillies, and opted to move other All-Star-caliber players.

With 2010 MVP 1B Joey Votto now 38, he’s due for some regression which could signal trouble for the Reds.

Votto, who had a homer burst in the second half of the season (26 after July 2), struggled in September and October, only hitting .250. It’s going to be difficult for him to keep it up as he gets older, doesn’t have Winker and Castellanos batting in front of him, and the team likely out of the playoff race earlier than normal.

The Reds’ top pitching option, SP Luis Castillo, had a league-high 16 losses and a 3.98 ERA last season. The depth just isn’t there, and in a difficult, deep division, the Reds won’t be able to keep pace.

Odds to win NL Central Division

  • Milwaukee Brewers -170 (bet $170 to win $100)
  • St. Louis Cardinals +210 (bet $100 to win $210)
  • Chicago Cubs +1200 (bet $100 to win $1,200)
  • Cincinnati Reds +1200 (bet $100 to win $1,200)
  • Pittsburgh Pirates +5000 (bet $100 to win $5,000)

Cincinnati is tied with Chicago for the third-best odds to win the NL Central. Let’s just say the chance anyone other than the Brewers or Cardinals winning the division is extremely low.

The Reds implied probability of winning the NL Central is 7.7% or 12/1 fractional odds. The Brewers and Cards are the only real threats to win the division, so I’d PASS here.

Odds to win National League

Odds: +3000 (bet $100 to win $3,000)

The Reds haven’t won the National League this century and have only won the NL Central twice since 2000.

Given all the reasons above, I wouldn’t donate my money to the books and would strongly consider a PASS here, too. The implied probability this happens is 3.23%.

2022 Toronto Blue Jays World Series, win total, pennant and division odds

Looking at the 2022 MLB futures for the Toronto Blue Jays, including odds for the World Series, pennant, division and projected win total.

The Toronto Blue Jays hope to pick up where they left off last season, finishing 22-9 down the stretch starting Sept. 1. However, they just missed the American League Wild Card by only 1 game.

Below, we look at the Toronto Blue Jays’ MLB futures odds, including their projected 2022 win total and World Series odds at Tipico Sportsbook.

Toronto acquired SP Kevin Gausman with a massive deal and extended SP Jose Berrios, who it acquired at last year’s trade deadline.

Blue Jays 1B Vladimir Guerrero Jr. led the AL in WAR last season (per FanGraphs) and is joined by fellow All-Stars RF Teoscar Hernández and SS Bo Bichette in Toronto’s dynamite lineup.

Toronto Blue Jays’ 2022 World Series odds

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated Sunday, March 27 at 11:23 p.m. ET.

Odds: +900 (bet $100 to win $900)

PASS. Let’s slow our roll on Toronto.

The Blue Jays are tied with the Houston Astros for the second-best odds to win the World Series, jumping head of the other two 2021 AL division winners in the Chicago White Sox (+1200) and the Tampa Bay Rays (+1300).

While there’s a world where the Blue Jays go all the way, I’m not sold they’ve done enough to surpass the Rays or the New York Yankees to win their own division, let alone the pennant and World Series.

Also, I’m skeptical the Blue Jays have the arms in the bullpen for fall baseball and there isn’t a starter in their rotation with any postseason success.

Last season, Toronto’s bullpen was 25th in WAR and 20th in hard-hit rate and FIP, and the Blue Jays didn’t do much to help their bullpen this offseason.

Finally, we could get a better price on Toronto winning the World Series in October if it makes the postseason as a Wild Card.

PASS on the BLUE JAYS TO WIN WORLD SERIES.

Toronto Blue Jays’ 2022 playoff odds

Will the Blue Jays make the playoffs: Yes -400 | No +300

PASS.

Toronto should be in the playoffs come October, but I wouldn’t tie my money up in a -400 future that won’t be graded for six months.

Lastly, the new 12-team playoff format could lead to better teams getting bounced out in the Wild-Card round via a 3-game series. It would be terrible losing a -400 future because of an inaugural playoff format.

Toronto Blue Jays’ 2022 win total

Over/Under: 91.5 (O: -115 | U: -105)

BET the BLUE JAYS OVER 91.5 WINS (-115) partially because they had the second-worst luck in 2021 at minus-8 (per Baseball-Reference.com). Essentially, Toronto won eight fewer games than it should based on run differential.

Also, the Blue Jays could siphon some wins from their AL East co-tenants. Tampa Bay won’t win 100 games again, New York was second in luck factor at plus-6 and Boston was fifth in luck last season at plus-4.

Furthermore, we can pencil in Toronto for having one of the best lineups in baseball and should have one of the better rotations in the AL with Berrios and SP Alek Manoah on the staff for a full year.

Berrios is a “top of the rotation” starter at almost any club and Manoah is my “sleeper” for the AL Cy Young. Manoah was called up to The Show at the end of May last year and was sixth in hard-hit rate, 13th in exit velocity and 16th in WHIP for starters with a minimum of 110 innings pitched.

BLUE JAYS OVER 91.5 WINS (-115) is Toronto’s best future bet.

Odds to win AL East Division

  • Toronto Blue Jays +170 (bet $100 to win $170)
  • New York Yankees +230 (bet $100 to win $230)
  • Tampa Bay Rays +240 (bet $100 to win $240)
  • Boston Red Sox +480 (bet $100 to win $480)
  • Baltimore Orioles +20000 (bet $100 to win $20,000)

PASS because there’s really no good price for a team in the stacked AL East.

You could make a solid argument for any of the top-3 lines. The Red Sox return most of their team that reached Game 6 of the American League Championship Series last season.

The bottom line is the Blue Jays (+170) to win the AL East has an implied win probability of 37.0% and Toronto doesn’t win this division that often if we simulated the 2022 season 100 times.

Odds to win American League

Odds: +450 (bet $100 to win $450)

PASS. I disagree with Toronto being ahead of Tampa Bay and New York in the market for AL pennant winner. If the Blue Jays were at +800 to go to the World Series, maybe I’d lobby for a wager here.

Also, there are enough “ifs” with Toronto to make the Blue Jays (+450) to win the AL a stay-away.
