2022 Carolina Panthers’ win total, Super Bowl, conference and division odds

Analyzing 2022 NFL futures for the Carolina Panthers, including odds for win total, Super Bowl and division with expert picks.

The Carolina Panthers were a tale of two teams last season, having the second-ranked defense in the NFL while having the 31st-ranked offense. After winning its first 3 games, Carolina lost 12 of its final 14 to finish with a record of 5-12

Below, we look at the Carolina Panthers 2022 NFL futures odds – including win total, division, conference and Super Bowl odds at Tipico Sportsbook – with best bet suggestions among our NFL picks and predictions.

In the offseason, the Panthers saw an exodus of some of their premier defenders at all three levels, including CB Stephon Gilmore (to Indianapolis Colts), OLB Hasson Reddick (Philadelphia Eagles) and DT DaQuan Jones (Buffalo Bills). They made some splashy signings, including DT Matt Ioannidis, LB Damien Wilson and S Xavier Woods, but the losses were more impactful than the signings for one of the league’s best defenses a year ago.

The Panthers may have drafted their quarterback of the future in Matt Corral (Mississippi State) late in the 3rd round, which looks to be a bargain price, but the team had just 1 pick in the first 93 selections. Carolina used the 6th pick on OT Ikem Ekwonu (N.C. State). He will be a long-term foundation piece but will take time to adjust to the pro game, which won’t bring immediate returns.

Carolina Panthers’ 2022 win total: Best bet

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated Monday, May 23 at 9:24 p.m. ET.

Over/Under: 5.5 (O: -130 | U: +110)

This is a difficult number because if you look at a game-by-game breakdown, it’s hard to come up with more than 5 or 6 wins.

While I think Carolina is a team that will struggle at times, if they get RB Christian McCaffrey back in the lineup for an entire season and QB Sam Darnold can be a game manager, the Panthers defense has enough talent to keep them in games and win enough to avoid a repeat of the 5-12 season it posted a year ago.

McCaffrey should be worth a couple of wins on his own, despite having a schedule that includes teams from the NFC West and AFC North.

TAKE OVER 5.5 WINS (-130).

Carolina Panthers’ 2022 Super Bowl odds

Odds: +9,000 (bet $100 to win $9,000)

In a division where the best that can be realistically hoped for is 3rd place for Carolina, you can’t be thinking Super Bowl. The Panthers have the talent to stay in games, but as they showed so often in their 2-12 finish to last season, they haven’t shown the ability to close out games and string together wins.

There is no play here. PASS.

Carolina Panthers’ 2022 playoff odds

Will Panthers make the playoffs: Yes +480 | No -699

This is a number that is very high on both sides of the spectrum – a big 4.8 return on investment if they make the playoffs, while it will cost 6.99 units to profit just 1 if they don’t make the playoffs. PASS.

Odds to win NFC South Division

  • Atlanta Falcons +1500 (bet $100 to win $1,500)
  • Carolina Panthers +1,000 (bet $100 to win $1,000)
  • New Orleans Saints +380 (bet $100 to win $380)
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers -310 (bet $310 to win $100)

Getting a 10-to-1 return on investment with the Panthers looks like a positive, but the Buccaneers are such heavy favorites that a Carolina bet here would likely be money wasted – is betting $20 to win $200 worth it on such a long shot?

Even if Tampa Bay was beset with a rash of key injuries, the Saints are a good enough team to checker-jump the Bucs and still leave the Panthers in the rear view mirror as the Saints run away from them. PASS.

Odds to win NFC

Odds: +5000 (bet $100 to win $5,000)

This one is an easy one if you simply look at the schedule. Not only do the Panthers have 4 games against the Buccaneers and Saints, there is a 5-game slate from Week 3 to Week 7 that includes 4 home games, but the opponents are the Saints, Cardinals, 49ers, Rams and Buccaneers.

Carolina likely won’t get a single win during that stretch, which represents almost half of the Panthers’ home schedule for the season. The Panthers will likely dig an early hole that will be too much for them to climb out of. PASS.
