Jets fans truly live and die with their team no matter what. The numbers support that theory. The Jets had the 2nd-highest attendance average in 2022 with an average of 78,009 fans over their eight home games. Only the Dallas Cowboys (93,465) had higher attendance.
The Cowboys, New York Giants (76,474) and Green Bay Packers (76,180) were among the top four with the Jets and all are NFC teams who had nine home games in 2022 while the Jets only had eight.
Not too bad for a team that started strong but was derailed by injuries and finished the season on a six-game losing streak. Of course, of those six games during the losing streak, four were on the road.
Another interesting note from the numbers is that the Jets were the only AFC East team in the top half of the rankings for average home attendance. Buffalo (68,431) was the next-highest at 18th, followed by Miami (66,230) at No. 25 and New England (65,878) at No. 26.
The Chicago Bears (59,823) and Washington Commanders (58,106) were the only teams to average less than 60,000 fans at home games.
