Michaela Onyenwere’s grandmother is the star of the WNBA draft.

When your granddaughter gets taken No. 6 overall in the WNBA draft, you’ve got to celebrate. That was clearly going through Michaela Onyenwere’s grandmother’s mind after the 21-year-old was drafted by the New York Liberty on Thursday night’s WNBA draft.

During ESPN’s cutaway to interview Onyenwere after being drafted by the Liberty, the world got a great look at who she was celebrating the special occasion with. And folks, her family did not disappoint. Between the packed house, the outfits, and the enthusiasm, Onyenwere’s family was the star of the show during the interview.

Especially Onyenwere’s grandmother, who is absolutely worth watching this clip over and over for.

The outfit! The dancing! The joy! Talk about an absolute vibe right there.

And of course, Onyenwere’s grandmother became quite the hit on social media after the fact.

The sports world will be seeing more of Onyenwere in the future, and let’s hope her grandmother brings the vibes right along with her.

Former Alabama women’s basketball forward Jasmine Walker is the No. 7 overall pick in the 2021 WNBA draft to the Los Angeles Sparks.

Walker was a projected first-round pick, so this comes as no surprise.

While at Alabama, Walker broke the record for the most points scored in a single game with 41 and recorded 21 double-doubles.

In 2020, the Sparks made the playoffs as a No. 3 seed, but were unable to win it all. As a franchise, the team holds claim to three WNBA championships, with the most recent one being in 2016.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to publish updates on Jasmine Walker as she begins her professional career with the Los Angeles Sparks.
