Golf’s biggest names are in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, this week for The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass. With the 2021 Masters Tournament less than one month away, this may be the last time we see several of the PGA Tour’s top names until mid-April. Below, we highlight one prop bet for each of the favorites at the 2021 Players Championship.
Brooks Koepka, Matthew Wolff and Tiger Woods are the biggest stars not in attendance this week. Rory McIlroy defends his 2019 Players Championship title two years later after the 2020 tournament was called off following the conclusion of Round 1 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dustin Johnson (+1200 to win)
Our bet: Top-10 finish (+140)
The 2021 Players Championship is likely to have the strongest field we’ve seen on the PGA Tour since the 2020 US Open and PGA Championship. Get some insurance on Johnson falling shy of victory, as he did in both of those events, while still getting plus-money for yet another top-10 finish.
Bryson DeChambeau (+1600)
Our bet: Will DeChambeau make the cut? (No: +225)
DeChambeau led the field last week in Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee en route to winning the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill Club & Lodge. His driver won’t be nearly as big of an advantage at the shorter and more intricate TPC Sawgrass.
Jon Rahm (+1500)
Our bet: Top continental European (+175)
Rahm comes into this week as the top-ranked European in the Golfweek/Sagarin world rankings at No. 3 overall. You can nearly double-up with this prop in what is essentially a head-to-head against Viktor Hovland (No. 5, +260).

Rory McIlroy (+1400)
Our bet: First-round leader (+3300)
McIlroy is just +1600 to win this event but offers much better value to lead after 18 holes. He had a share of the first-round lead at Bay Hill last week but continued his weekend struggles en route to a T-10 finish.
Justin Thomas (+2000)
Our bet: Top American (+1200)
Fade Johnson (+750) and DeChambeau (+900) in backing Thomas as the first American offering better than a 10-1 payout. His third-place finish here in 2016 is the best career result of the three.
Xander Schauffele (+2200)
Our bet: Top-5 finish (+450)
Schauffele enters the week atop the Golfweek rankings. He has six top-5 finishes in his last 10 events and still offers a 4.5-1 return to do the same this week.

Collin Morikawa (+2200)
Our bet: Top-20 finish (+100)
Much like our strategy with Johnson, we’re going for the safest cushion we can get for Morikawa while still getting an even-money return. He won the WGC-Workday Championship his last time out and has two other top-10 finishes in 2021.
Patrick Cantlay (+2200)
Our bet: Lowest 72-hole score – Group B (+350)
Cantlay’s returning to play after withdrawing from the Workday Championship due to illness. He’s fourth in the Golfweek rankings to lead a group including Morikawa (26), Thomas (11), Hovland (5) and Webb Simpson (7).
Webb Simpson (+2200)
Our bet: To win (+2200)
Simpson won this event and won twice more on Tour in 2020. He has two top-10 finishes in four events this year and comes in ranked third on Tour in bogey avoidance, T-9 in par 5 scoring average and fourth in driving accuracy.
