2021 Boston Red Sox World Series, win total, pennant and division odds

Looking at the 2021 MLB futures for the Boston Red Sox, including odds for the World Series, pennant, division and their projected win total.

The Boston Red Sox finished in last place in the 2020 AL East standings. The Crimson Hose went 24-36 and finished a game behind the perpetually rebuilding Baltimore Orioles for fourth place. We look at the Boston Red Sox‘s MLB futures odds, including their projected 2021 win total and World Series odds at BetMGM.

The 2020 Red Sox ranked a respectable 11th in runs scored with 4.87 per game but a dismal 29th in runs allowed at 5.85. Boston was without LHP Chris Sale (Tommy John surgery) and LHP Eduardo Rodriguez (COVID-19) — but had plenty of warts as well.

Slugging DH J.D. Martinez never got on track last season and finished with a .680 OPS. The Red Sox also didn’t get much production from the right side of their infield (1B Michael Chavis‘ .636 OPS and 2B Jose Peraza‘s .617 OPS). SS Xander Bogaerts (.867 OPS), CF Jackie Bradley Jr. (.814 OPS), and RF Alex Verdugo (.844) were very much on track.

Peg the group as a whole as one expected to do more in 2021, and that makes for plenty of offense.

Rodriguez returns to the rotation this season while Sale could be back late in the season. The Sox brought in RHP Garrett Richards (4.09 ERA over his last 136 1/3 IP) to shore up the rotation and RHP Adam Ottavino (major struggles in 2020 but the owner of a 2.61 ERA since 2018) to play a role in the bullpen.

Odds: +5000 (bet $100 to win $5,000)

This payout puts the Red Sox toward the fat part on the bell curve but with a long-shot lean.

Boston Red Sox’ 2021 win total

Over/Under: 80.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Boston has some up-and-coming young talent, and the return of manager Alex Cora figures to start up the return ascent to quality baseball in Beantown.

The 2020 Sox were 0-4 in extra-inning games and 4-9 in one-run games. With even below-average-just-not-terrible production from their pitchers, and with added games against the weaker American League Central and West Divisions, the 2021 Red Sox can get back to .500-or-better.

Peg the OVER 80.5 (-110) AS A SOLID VALUE; likewise for the division crown.

Odds to win the AL East Division

  • New York Yankees: -200 (bet $200 to win $100)
  • Toronto Blue Jays: +400 (bet $100 to win $400)
  • Tampa Bay Rays: +450 (bet $100 to win $450)
  • Red Sox: +2000 (bet $100 to win $2,000)
  • Baltimore Orioles: +6600 (bet $100 to win $6,600)

Odds to win the American League

Odds: +2300 (bet $100 to win $2,300)

This price has the Red Sox in the bottom half of the Junior Circuit, behind the likes of the Yankees (+240) and Chicago White Sox (+400) but more highly regarded than the Orioles (+6000), Detroit Tigers (+6000), Kansas City Royals (+6000), Seattle Mariners (+6000) and Texas Rangers (+7500).

2021 Arizona Diamondbacks World Series, win total, pennant and division odds

Looking at the 2021 MLB futures for the Arizona Diamondbacks, including odds for the World Series, pennant, division and their projected win total.

The Arizona Diamondbacks were initially expected to be able to push the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL West in the 60-game 2020 season but that didn’t happen. They finished the season 25-35 and in last place in the division. Below, we look at the Arizona Diamondbacks’ MLB futures odds, including their projected 2021 win total and World Series odds at BetMGM.

Arizona didn’t do much this offseason after loading up last season. They did not bring back RPs Hector Rondon or Junior Guerra and also bought out starter Mike Leake. They added a pair of relievers to the back end of the bullpen, signing RHPs Joakim Soria and Tyler Clippard to one-year deals and also added INF Asdrubal Cabrera.

They shaved more than $25 million off last year’s payroll and added no new starters to the rotation.

Arizona Diamondbacks’ 2021 World Series odds

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Saturday, March 13 at 11:50 a.m. ET.

Odds: +10000 (bet $100 to win $10,000

Arizona, with 100/1 fractional odds and an implied 0.99% chance of winning the World Series, is one of the longest shots to win it all entering this season. The favorites are the defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers at +350, followed by the New York Yankees at +550.

Only two teams have longer odds than Arizona — the Texas Rangers at +15000 and the Pittsburgh Pirates at +20000.

PASS on betting on the Diamondbacks on winning the World Series. They are nowhere near that.

Arizona Diamondbacks’ 2021 win total

Over/Under: 75.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

It goes without saying that the Diamondbacks severely underperformed in 2020, for whatever reason. Pretty much every player they were counting on had a bad season.

Their 2020 winning percentage would translate to 67.5 wins in a 162-game schedule, so oddsmakers understand expectations should be higher in 2021, even when they aren’t expected to be good.

To hit the Over this year, the D-Backs would need a winning percentage of .469. They have had a lower win percentage in only two of their last 10 seasons and only once since Torey Lovullo became manager. Their slumping hitters will be better and their pitchers surely can’t be as bad as they were last season. Bet OVER 75.5 (-110).

Odds to win the NL West

  • Los Angeles Dodgers: -250 (bet $250 to win $100)
  • San Diego Padres: +200 (bet $100 to win $200)
  • Diamondbacks: +5000 (bet $100 to win $5,000)
  • San Francisco Giants: +5000 (bet $100 to win $5,000)
  • Colorado Rockies: +5000 (bet $100 to win $5,000)

The division is a two-team race with three long shots. Arizona has an implied 1.96% chance of winning the division. PASS on a bet on the D-Backs.

Odds to win the National League

Odds: +8000 (Bet $100 to win $8,000)

Again, Arizona is one of the biggest long shots in the league. Only the Pittsburgh Pirates have longer odds of winning the NL at +10000. Arizona is tied with Colorado with the longest odds in the division to win the National League pennant.

The Dodgers lead the way at +180, followed by the Padres at +420 and then both the Atlanta Braves and New York Mets at +600.

PASS on a bet on Arizona.

2021 Baltimore Orioles World Series, win total, pennant and division odds

Looking at the 2021 MLB futures for the Baltimore Orioles, including odds for the World Series, pennant, division and their projected win total.

The Baltimore Orioles finished 25-35 in last year’s shortened season, placing fourth in the AL East. It was the fourth season in a row that they finished below .500. Below, we look at the Baltimore Orioles’ MLB futures odds, including their projected 2021 win total and World Series odds at BetMGM.

The Orioles infield will look a bit different than last season. They added SS Freddy Galvis and 2B Yolmer Sanchez, a Gold Glove winner with the Chicago White Sox two seasons ago. 1B Trey Mancini returns after sitting out 2020 due to having surgery for colon cancer.

Gone are 1B/DH Renato Nunez (now with the Detroit Tigers), 2B Hanser Alberto (Kansas City Royals) SS Jose Iglesias (Los Angeles Angels) and SS Andrew Velazquez (New York Yankees).

The outfield remains the same with Ryan Mountcastle, Cedric Mullins and Anthony Santander.

The rotation received a facelift. They signed free agents Felix Hernandez (2010 AL Cy Young) and Matt Harvey, hoping the right-handers can revitalize their careers. While the O’s traded their 2020 Opening Day starter LHP Tommy Milone (now with the Toronto Blue Jays) to the Atlanta Braves last August, they also bid adieu to RHPs Alex Cobb (Angels) and Asher Wojciechowski (Yankees), who combined for 17 starts last year and signed free-agent contracts in the offseason.

Baltimore Orioles’ 2021 World Series odds

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Saturday, March 13 at 10:17 a.m. ET.

Odds: +10000 (bet $100 to win $1,000)

Only two teams have longer odds, being the Pittsburgh Pirates (+20000) and the Texas Rangers (+15000). Five clubs, the Arizona Diamondbacks, Colorado Rockies, Tigers, Royals and Seattle Mariners, share the same +10000 odds as the Orioles.

The defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers (+350) are the favorites, followed by the Yankees (+550).

At +10000, the Orioles’ implied probability of winning the World Series is 0.99% or 100/1 fractional odds.

Sure, it would be a nice payout, but the Orioles will be lucky to finish above .500 let alone win it all. PASS.

Baltimore Orioles’ 2021 win total

Over/Under: 64.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

The last two full seasons, the O’s were 54-108 (2019) and 47-115 (’18).

Last year’s 25-35 record equates to a 67.5-94.5 mark in a 162-game season. That would cash an Over ticket here, but I’d have a tough time counting on – and rooting for – a bad team to win games down the stretch.

PASS. But if you must, the lean is to the Over.

Odds to win the AL East Division

  • Yankees -200 (bet $200 to win $100)
  • Blue Jays: +400 (bet $100 to win $400)
  • Tampa Bay Rays: +450 (bet $100 to win $450)
  • Boston Red Sox: +2000 (bet $100 to win $2,000)
  • Orioles: +6600 (bet $100 to win $6,600)

At +6600, the Orioles’ implied probability of winning the AL East is 1.49% or 66/1 fractional odds. Again, they’ll be fortunate to finish above .500 in this tough division. PASS.

Odds to win the American League

Odds: +6600 (bet $100 to win $6,600)

The Tigers, Royals and Mariners also have +6600 odds, while the Rangers (+8000) are the biggest long shots.

On the other side of the spectrum, the Yankees (+240) are the favorites, followed by the Chicago White Sox (+400).

Just like the +6600 to win the AL East, the Orioles are +6600 to win the AL pennant. It’s the same implied probability 1.49% or 66/1 fractional odds. PASS.

2021 Tampa Bay Rays World Series, win total, pennant and division odds

Looking at the 2021 MLB futures for the Tampa Bay Rays, including odds for the World Series, pennant, division and their projected win total.

In last year’s shortened season, the Tampa Bay Rays were the top dog in the American League, advancing all the way to the World Series where they lost in six games to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Below, we look at the Tampa Bay Rays’ MLB futures odds, including their projected 2021 win total and World Series odds at BetMGM.

Tampa Bay went an AL-best 40-20 in the regular season a year ago and finished 7 games ahead of the New York Yankees to win the AL East.

The Rays swept the Toronto Blue Jays in a two-game AL Wild Card Series but had to go the distance in the next two rounds. They beat the Yankees in a five-game AL Division Series and the Houston Astros in a seven-game AL Championship Series.

LF Randy Arozarena was the breakout star of the playoffs. He hit .377 with 10 homers and 14 RBIs in 20 postseason games. He won the ALCS MVP after hitting .321 with 4 homers and 6 RBIs vs. the Astros.

While the lineup basically stays intact, several tweaks were made to the rotation. LHP Blake Snell, the 2018 AL Cy Young Award winner, was traded to the San Diego Padres for three prospects and C Francisco Mejia.

Meanwhile, they added free-agent starters LHP Rich Hill, RHP Chris Archer and RHP Michael Wacha.

Hill went 2-2 with a 3.03 ERA for the Minnesota Twins last season. Archer returns to Tampa Bay after 1½ seasons with the Pittsburgh Pirates (3-9, 5.19 ERA last season). Wacha hopes to rebound from last year’s campaign (1-4, 6.62 ERA) campaign with the New York Mets.

Tampa Bay Rays’ 2021 World Series odds

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Saturday, March 13 at 10:09 a.m. ET.

Odds: +2500 (bet $100 to win $2,500)

The Rays still get no respect. There are 10 teams with shorter odds than the defending AL champs. The World Series champion Dodgers (+350) are the favorites, followed by the Yankees (+550), Chicago White Sox (+900) and San Diego Padres (+900).

Pittsburgh (+20000) is the biggest long shot, just ahead of the Texas Rangers (+15000).

At +2500, the Rays’ implied probability of winning the World Series is 3.85% or 25/1 fractional odds.

For a team that was just two wins away from winning it all and only lost Snell in the offseason, BETTING RAYS (+2500) offers a solid value.

Baseball season is finally here! Get some action on the 2021 season with an MLB futures bet at BetMGM in CO, IA, IN, MI, NJ, PA, TN, VA and WV. Place your legal, online bets at BetMGM. New customer offer, terms and conditions apply. Bet now!

Tampa Bay Rays’ 2021 win total

Over/Under: 86.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Last year’s 40 wins in 60 games equates to 108 victories in a full 162-game season. They won 96 games in 2019 and 90 games in ’18.

I’d be reluctant if the line was 90 or higher, but at this number, I’m down with backing the OVER 86.5.

Odds to win the AL East Division

  • Yankees -200 (bet $200 to win $100)
  • Blue Jays: +400 (bet $100 to win $400)
  • Rays: +450 (bet $100 to win $450)
  • Boston Red Sox: +2000 (bet $100 to win $2,000)
  • Baltimore Orioles: +6600 (bet $100 to win $6,600)

The Rays (+450) have an implied probability of winning the AL East of 18.18% or 9/2 fractional odds. I’d prefer a bigger payoff here, so I’ll PASS.

Odds to win the American League

Odds: +1000 (bet $100 to win $1,000)

At +1000, the Rays’ implied probability to defend their AL title is 9.09% or 10/1 fractional odds.

Tampa bay is tied for the fifth shortest odds with the Astros and Oakland A’s, while the Yankees (+240) are the favorites. The White Sox (+400), Twins (+750) and Blue Jays (+900) round out the top five.

A RAYS (+1000) BET to win the AL crown seems like a good deal to me.

2021 San Diego Padres World Series, win total, pennant and division odds

Looking at the 2021 MLB futures for the San Diego Padres, including odds for the World Series, pennant, division and their projected win total.

The San Diego Padres hope to keep the momentum going after last year’s playoff appearance, the franchise’s first since 2006. Below, we look at the San Diego Padres’ MLB futures odds, including their projected 2021 win total and World Series odds at BetMGM.

The Friars finished 37-23 in the pandemic-shortened season, placing second in the NL West. They beat the St. Louis Cardinals 2-1 in a best-of-three NL Wild Card Series before getting swept in a three-game NL Division Series by the eventual World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Padres made big news in the offseason by trading for two aces. They acquired RHP Yu Darvish from the Chicago Cubs and 2018 AL Cy Young winner LHP Blake Snell from the Tampa Bay Rays. Darvish was last year’s NL Cy Young runner-up to Cincinnati Reds RHP Trevor Bauer, who is now with the rival Dodgers.

They’ll join RHP Dinelson Lamet atop the rotation. Lamet was a pleasant surprise in 2020, posting a 2.09 ERA with a 3-1 record in 12 starts, good enough to place fourth in the NL Cy Young race.

Offensively, the Padres are led by 3B Manny Machado (.304, 16 HRs, 47 RBIs last season), SS Fernando Tatis Jr. (.277, 17, 45) and RF Wil Myers (.288, 15, 40). Machado and Tatis finished third and fourth, respectively, in last year’s NL MVP voting.

San Diego Padres’ 2021 World Series odds

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Friday, March 12 at 8:15 a.m. ET.

Odds: +900 (bet $100 to win $900)

Only two teams have shorter odds. The Dodgers (+350) are the favorites, followed by the New York Yankees (+550). The Chicago White Sox (+900) have the same odds as the Padres.

At +900, San Diego’s implied probability of winning the World Series is 10% or 9/1 fractional odds.

The Pittsburgh Pirates are the biggest long shots at +20000, which is an implied probability of 0.50% or 200/1.

With a 9-to-1 payoff, the PADRES (+900) are good enough to make a small World Series futures wager on them.

Baseball season is finally here! Get some action on the 2021 season with an MLB futures bet at BetMGM in CO, IA, IN, MI, NJ, PA, TN, VA and WV. Place your legal, online bets at BetMGM. New customer offer, terms and conditions apply. Bet now!

San Diego Padres’ 2021 win total

Over/Under: 94.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Last year’s 37-23 record in 60 games equates to 100-62 in a 162-game season. While the Padres are definitely good enough to win 95 or more games, it’s a tough ask. I lean UNDER 94.5 (-110).

Odds to win the NL West Division

  • Dodgers: -250 (bet $250 to win $100)
  • Padres: +200 (bet $100 to win $200)
  • Arizona Diamondbacks: +5000 (bet $100 to win $5,000)
  • Colorado Rockies: +5000 (bet $100 to win $5,000)
  • San Francisco Giants: +5000 (bet $100 to win $5,000)

The Padres’ implied probability of winning the NL West is 33.43% or 2/1 fractional odds. The value just isn’t there. PASS.

Odds to win the National League

Odds: +425 (bet $100 to win $425)

The Dodgers (+180) are the only club with shorter odds, while the Atlanta Braves and New York Mets are tied for fourth at +600.

The Padres’ +425 NL title odds are an implied probability of 19.05% or 17/4 fractional odds.

It’s no surprise Pittsburgh (+10000) is the longest shot to win the NL crown.  That’s an implied probability of 0.99% or 100/1 fractional odds.

SAN DIEGO (+425) definitely has the talent to win the NL pennant, so I’m willing to make up to a $50 wager here.

2021 Colorado Rockies World Series, win total, pennant and division odds

Looking at the 2021 MLB futures for the Colorado Rockies, including odds for the World Series, pennant, division and their projected win total.

The Colorado Rockies hope to improve after back-to-back disappointing seasons. Below, we look at the Colorado Rockies’ MLB futures odds, including their projected 2021 win total and World Series odds at BetMGM.

After making the playoffs in 2017 and ’18, the Rockies finished below .500 the past two seasons with consecutive fourth-place showings in the NL West. They went 26-34 in last year’s shortened season and were 71-91 in 2019.

In the offseason, they traded 3B Nolan Arenado to the St. Louis Cardinals. They’re hoping LHP Austin Gomber, acquired in the deal, pitches well enough to make the trade worthwhile.

Meanwhile, SS Trevor Story could end up getting traded by midseason as he’s in the final year of his contract. Sadly, he was the only Colorado batter to hit double-digit homers (11) last season.

Another sad 2020 stat: RHP Antonio Senzatela was the only Colorado starter to finish with an above-.500 record at 5-3.

In a division with the defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers and the up-and-coming San Diego Padres, things don’t look promising for the Rockies in 2021.

Colorado Rockies’ 2021 World Series odds

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Friday, March 12 at 7:50 a.m. ET.

Odds: +10000 (bet $100 to win $10,000)

Only two teams have longer odds, being the Pittsburgh Pirates (+20000) and Texas Rangers (+15000).

Five teams – Arizona Diamondbacks, Baltimore Orioles, Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Royals and Seattle Mariners – have the same +10000 odds as the Rockies.

The Dodgers (+350) are the favorites with the New York Yankees (+550) not far behind.

At +10000, the Rockies’ implied probability of winning the World Series is 0.99% or 100/1 fractional odds. There’s no way the Rockies win the World Series, let alone make the playoffs. AVOID.

Colorado Rockies’ 2021 win total

Over/Under: 63.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Not winning at least 64 games is hard to do. In the last 162-game season, only one NL team (Miami Marlins: 57-105) finished with less than 63 wins.

The Rockies might be bad, but at this number, the lean is to the OVER 63.5 (-110).

Odds to win the NL West Division

  • Dodgers: -250 (bet $250 to win $100)
  • Padres: +200 (bet $100 to win $200)
  • Diamondbacks: +5000 (bet $100 to win $5,000)
  • Rockies: +5000 (bet $100 to win $5,000)
  • San Francisco Giants: +5000 (bet $100 to win $5,000)

At +5000, the Rockies’ implied probability of winning the NL West is 1.96% or 50/1 fractional odds. Nope. PASS on a Rockies bet here, too.

Odds to win the National League

Odds: +8000 (bet $100 to win $8,000)

Only the Pirates (+10000) have longer odds, while the Rockies have the same odds as the Diamondbacks.

The Dodgers (+180) are the favorites, followed by the Padres (+425), Atlanta Braves (+600) and New York Mets (+600).

At +8000, the Rockies’ implied probability of winning the NL is 1.23% or 80/1 fractional odds. PASS.

2021 Cincinnati Reds World Series, win total, pennant and division odds

Looking at the 2021 MLB futures for the Cincinnati Reds, including odds for the World Series, pennant, division and their projected win total.

The Cincinnati Reds won 12 of their last 16 games to reach the expanded 2020 playoff field. What can futures bettors expect for a curtain call? We look at the Cincinnati Reds’ MLB futures odds, including their projected 2021 win total and World Series odds at BetMGM.

The Reds averaged 4.05 runs per game and yielded the same figure. They ranked in the NL’s bottom-third on offense and in the top-third in run prevention. Cincy lost RHP Trevor Bauer to free agency after he signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Reds return a solid rotation and bullpen — one that’s deep and versatile and perhaps well-built for the rigors of a 2021 season that won’t see normal starter innings even by modern standards.

On offense, the Reds will be looking to pick up where they left off last fall … before being blanked two games to none by Atlanta in a Wild Card Round that saw Cincinnati score zero runs in 22 innings.

Over the first 28 games of last summer’s truncated season, the Reds logged a mere .699 OPS. They registered a more respectable .729 figure after that. A full year of 2B Mike Moustakas, who contracted COVID-19 and missed 16 games in 2020, should help. The veteran slugger is just two seasons removed from slashing his way to a .254/.329/.516 line with 30 doubles and 35 home runs with the Milwakee Brewers.

Odds: +3500 (bet $100 to win $3,500)

The +3500 tag is a midrange price comparative to the league.

At +3500, the Reds’ implied probability of winning the World Series is 2.78% or 35/1 fractional odds.

Cincinnati Reds’ 2021 win total

Over/Under: 81.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Cincinnati’s offseason has been much more subtraction than addition. In a division where the St. Louis Cardinals are perhaps too far over their skis at 86.5 projected wins, THE REDS ARE A NICE VALUE ON THE OVER 81.5 (-110).

Among clubs in the middle third on the tote board, Cincinnati is a solid play with decent payoffs for winning the division and NL title especially. A World Series tag closer to +4000 would make for a better risk/reward profile at the top end.

Odds to win the NL Central Division

  • St. Louis Cardinals: +105 (bet $100 to win $105)
  • Reds: +330 (bet $100 to win $330)
  • Milwaukee Brewers: +375 (bet $100 to win $375)
  • Chicago Cubs: +500 (bet $100 to win $500)
  • Pittsburgh Pirates: +6600 (bet $100 to win $6,600)

Odds to win the National League

Odds: +1800 (bet $100 to win $1,800)

The price has the Reds in the top half of the Senior Circuit, behind the likes of the Dodgers (+180) and San Diego Padres (+420) but much more highly regarded than teams like the Arizona Diamondbacks (+8000), Colorado Rockies (+8000) and Pittsburgh Pirates (+10000).

Pittsburgh Pirates World Series, win total, pennant and division odds

Looking at the 2021 MLB futures for the Pittsburgh Pirates, including odds for the World Series, pennant, division and their projected win total.

The Pittsburgh Pirates had another rough year in 2020 as their 19 wins during the abbreviated season was lowest in all of baseball. Below, we look at the Pittsburgh Pirates’ MLB futures odds, including their projected 2021 win total and World Series odds at BetMGM.

The Pirates are in full rebuild mode, and spent the offseason trading away some of their best players in exchange for prospects. Gone are starting pitchers Joe Musgrove and Jameson Taillon, as well as first baseman Josh Bell. None of the prospects the Pirates received in return are likely to make an immediate impact at the big league level.

Meanwhile, the front office didn’t to much to fill the voids. In fact, the biggest signings the team made were minor league deals with 3B Todd Frazier and OF Brian Goodwin, and a one-year deal with SP Tyler Anderson.

Pittsburgh Pirates’ 2021 World Series odds

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Thursday, March 11 at 1:40 p.m. ET.

Odds: -20000 (Bet $100 to win $20,000)

At 200-to-1, the Pirates own the longest odds on the board. A $100 bet on them winning the World Series would result in a hefty payout of $20,000. Unfortunately, a team that was already at the bottom has taken another step back over the winter. They are an easy PASS with virtually no chance of winning the title and a good shot of recording the league’s worst record for the second straight year.

Pittsburgh Pirates’ 2021 win total

Over/Under: 58.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

The 19 games the Pirates won in 2020 would prorate to 51 victories over the course of a full 162-game season. It’s doubtful they will be quite that bad in 2021, but they are clearly among the least talented teams in the league, especially after their recent moves. It’s also quite possible that any player that gets off to a hot start finds themself in another uniform soon thereafter. This looks like a pretty fair line, but we’ll give a slight lean to the UNDER 58.5 (-110).

Odds to win the National League Central

  • Cardinals +105 (bet $100 to win $105)
  • Reds +333 (bet $100 to win $333)
  • Brewers +375 (bet $100 to win $375)
  • Cubs +500 (bet $100 to win $500)
  • Pirates +6600 (bet $100 to win $6600)

Most teams within the division have been pretty quiet this offseason with the Cardinals’ acquisition of 3B Nolan Arenado deal being the only blockbuster move. There aren’t any dominant teams, but the Pirates are heavy favorites to end up at the bottom of the standings. PASS on the PIRATES +6600

Odds to win the National League

Not surprisingly, the Pirates have the highest odds to win the NL pennant at +10000, so a $100 bet would return $10,000 if they somehow pulled it off. With the organization more focused on saving money and adding prospects than contending now, these odds aren’t enough to invest in. PASS on the Pirates and find another long shot to take a chance on.

2021 Los Angeles Dodgers World Series, win total, pennant and division odds

Looking at the 2021 MLB futures for the Los Angeles Dodgers, including odds for the World Series, pennant, division and their projected win total.

The Los Angeles Dodgers face a challenge the franchise hasn’t dealt with since 1989 – defending a World Series title. Below, we look at the Los Angeles Dodgers’ MLB futures odds, including their projected 2021 win total and World Series odds at BetMGM.

L.A. finished last year’s shortened season with an MLB-best 43-17 record. The Dodgers swept their first two playoff series, beating the Milwaukee Brewers in a two-game NL Wild Card Series and the rival San Diego Padres in a three-game Division Series.

They needed all seven games to get past the Atlanta Braves in the NLCS – they trailed 2-0 after two games and 3-1 after four – and then beat the Tampa Bay Rays 4 games to 2 in the World Series.

As if the Dodgers weren’t good enough, they signed NL Cy Young winner RHP Trevor Bauer as a free agent in the offseason. Bauer went 5-4 with an NL-best 1.73 ERA in 11 starts for the Cincinnati Reds last season.

LHP David Price, the 2012 AL Cy Young winner, is expected back after sitting out 2020 due to his concerns regarding COVID-19.

They lost OF Joc Pederson to the Chicago Cubs and OF/2B Kiké Hernández to the Boston Red Sox through free agency.

Los Angeles Dodgers’ 2021 World Series odds

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Thursday, March 11 at 1:20 p.m. ET.

Odds: +350 (bet $100 to win $350)

The Dodgers are the favorites. The New York Yankees (+550) are the next closest, followed by the Padres (+900) and Chicago White Sox (+900).

At +350, the Dodgers’ implied probability of winning the World Series is 22.22% or 7/2 fractional odds.

The biggest long shots are the Pittsburgh Pirates (+20000) with an implied probability of 0.50% or 200/1.

While the Dodgers are the team to beat, I would NOT BET them to win it all as +350 doesn’t offer enough value.

Los Angeles Dodgers’ 2021 win total

Over/Under: 102.5 (O: -115 | U: -105)

The Dodgers won 106 games two years ago and 104 games four years ago. Otherwise, they hadn’t won 100 or more games since 1974.

Winning 100 games is tough to do, which is why lean UNDER 102.5 (-105).

The Dodgers’ implied probability of winning the NL West is 71.43% or 2/5 fractional odds. There’s no value in making this bet. PASS.

Odds to win the National League

Odds: +180 (bet $100 to win $180)

As expected, the Dodgers are the favorites, followed by the Padres (+425), Braves (+600) and New York Mets (+600).

At +180, the Dodgers’ implied probability of winning the NL pennant is 35.71% or 9/5 fractional odds. PASS on betting at this price.

The Pirates (+10000) are the longest shots, which is an implied probability of 0.99% or 100/1 fractional odds.

2021 Milwaukee Brewers World Series, win total, pennant and division odds

Looking at 2021 MLB futures for the Milwaukee Brewers, including odds for the World Series, pennant, division and projected win total.

After winning 89 games in 2019 and 96 the previous season, the Milwaukee Brewers stumbled to a disappointing 29-31 record during the shortened 2020 season. We look at the Milwaukee Brewers’ MLB futures odds, including their projected 2021 win total and World Series odds at BetMGM.

There is a reason for optimism heading into 2021, and it starts with the 1-2 punch of SP Brandon Woodruff and SP Corbin Burnes. The two combined for a 2.63 ERA and 12.1 K/9 in 2020.

The Milwaukee offense fell well short of expectations a season ago. Star OF Christian Yelich suffered through a down year, as did 2B Keston Hiura and OF Avisail Garcia. All are good bets to rebound this season, and getting OF Lorenzo Cain (opted out in 2020) back in the mix will help as well.

The front office brought in a couple of players this offseason that will make the defense much stronger, too. Recent acquisition OF Jackie Bradley, Jr. will likely man center field most of the time, while 2B Kolten Wong will be the primary second baseman, shifting Hiura over to first.

There are some questions in the rotation beyond the top two. But SP Adrian Houser is a serviceable option, and SP Josh Lindblom offers some sneaky upside. Though he posted an ugly 5.16 ERA in his return from the KBO, the underlying metrics were strong, including a 10.3 K/9.

Milwaukee Brewers 2021 World Series odds

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Thursday, March 11 at 1:25 a.m. ET.

Odds: (+4000) Bet $100 to win $4,000.

The Brewers check-in at 40-1 to win the 2021 World Series. That means a wager on them winning it all has the potential to turn $100 into $4,000.

These odds place them firmly in the middle of the pack, in a four-way tie for 16th. For comparison’s sake, this gives the Brewers the same odds as Cleveland, the Cubs, and the Angels.

The Brewers boast a formidable duo at the top of the rotation, an improved defense, and some key hitters are due for a bounce-back season. Add it all up, and the BREWERS (+4000) are worth investing in.

Milwaukee Brewers 2021 win total

Over/Under: 83.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

The Brewers finished two games under .500 with a -17 run differential in 2020. However, most signs point to better results for the upcoming season. Look for the Brewers to push OVER 83.5 (-110) wins.

Odds to win the National League

The Brewers are currently (+2500) to take home the National League pennant. This gives them the 10th worst odds in the NL, even behind the Cubs (+2200), a team they share identical World Series odds with.

While they failed to make any blockbuster deals this winter, they added a couple of solid pieces and should be in the hunt in the NL Central. Taking the BREWERS (+2500) is an intriguing gamble.
