2021 Texas Rangers World Series, win total, pennant and division odds

Looking at the 2021 MLB futures for the Texas Rangers, including odds for the World Series, pennant, division and their projected win total.

The 60-game 2020 MLB season did not go well for the Texas Rangers. They had the worst record in the American League at 22-38, including an absolutely terrible road record of 6-24. They had the worst offense in the AL with only 3.73 runs scored per game and fifth-worst ERA. Now, we look at the Texas Rangers’ MLB futures odds, including their projected 2021 win total and World Series odds at BetMGM.

Texas made over its roster. Gone are pitchers Lance Lynn, Corey Kluber and Mike Minor, C Robinson Chirinos, INFs Elvis Andrus and Todd Frazier and OF Shin-Soo Choo. They added P Kohei Arihara, C Jonah Heim, and OFs David Dahl and Khris Davis.

Odds: +15000 (bet $100 to win $15,000

The Rangers have the longest odds to win the World Series of American League teams. Their fractional odds are 1/150 and their implied odds of winning are only 0.66%.

The only team with longer odds is the Pittsburgh Pirates in the National League at +20000. The preseason favorites are Los Angeles Dodgers at +350 and New York Yankees at +550.

PASS on the Rangers winning the World Series. This is a rebuilding team.

Texas Rangers’ 2021 win total

Over/Under: 67.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Expectations aren’t high for Texas, and they’re expected to be battling to avoid 100 losses in 2021.

To get to 68 wins, they will need to improve their winning percentage from .367 to .420. Their 2020 record through 60 games projects to 59 wins in the 162-game 2021 season.

Are they nine games better than last season? Probably not, unless their pitching develops quickly. Take UNDER 67.5 WINS (-110).

Odds to win the AL West Division

  • Houston Astros: +130 (bet $100 to win $130)
  • Oakland Athletics: +150 (bet $100 to win $150)
  • Los Angeles Angels: +375 (bet $100 to win $375)
  • Seattle Mariners: +2600 (bet $100 to win $2,600)
  • Rangers: +5000 (bet $100 to win $5000)

The Rangers have the longest odds to win a division that has playoff veterans in Houston and Oakland. PASS on the Rangers to win the division.

Odds to win the American League

As with the division, the Rangers have the longest odds to win the American League pennant. They are +7500 (bet $100 to win $7,500).

Four other teams — the Seattle Mariners, Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Royals and Baltimore Orioles — are listed at +6000.

The American League favorites are the Yankees (+240) and Chicago White Sox (+400).

PASS on betting on the Rangers to win the pennant.

2021 Los Angeles Angels World Series, win total, pennant and division odds

Looking at the 2021 MLB futures for the Los Angeles Angels, including odds for the World Series, pennant, division and their projected win total.

The Los Angeles Angels went 26-34 in last year’s 60-game season, placing fourth in the AL West. Below, we look at the Los Angeles Angels’ MLB futures odds, including their projected 2021 win total and World Series odds at BetMGM.

Despite having CF Mike Trout and 1B Albert Pujols, the Angels haven’t finished above .500 the past five seasons and haven’t made the playoffs since 2014.

With 3B Anthony Rendon added to the 2020 lineup, they ranked fourth in AL runs (294), fifth in AL homers (85) and fifth in AL batting average (.248) last season.

The problem has been pitching. They posted a 5.09 ERA last season to rank 13th in the AL and 25th in the majors. The starters’ 5.52 ERA was 14th in the AL and 29th in the majors.

The hope is two-way player RHP/DH Shohei Ohtani will give the rotation a boost. He made only two starts on the mound last season because of an elbow/forearm injury. He’s healthy heading into 2021,

Plus, the front office signed LHP Jose Quintana and traded for RHP Alex Cobb in the offseason. On the back end, they traded for closer Raisel Iglesias, who saved 92 games for the Cincinnati Reds between 2017-19.

Other key additions include SS Jose Iglesias, C Kurt Suzuki and OF Dexter Fowler. They did lose SS Andrelton Simmons, who signed with the Minnesota Twins.

Los Angeles Angels’ 2021 World Series odds

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Monday, March 15, at 8:45 a.m. ET.

Odds: +4000 (bet $100 to win $4000)

The Angels are tied for the 14th shortest odds – with the Chicago Cubs, Cleveland Indians and Milwaukee Brewers.

The defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers (+350) are the favorites, while the New York Yankees (+550) have the shortest odds out of the AL. The Houston Astros (+2200) have the shortest odds out of the AL West.

The longest odds belong to the Pittsburgh Pirates (+20000) and Texas Rangers (+15000).

At +4000, the Angels’ implied probability of winning it all is 2.44% or 40/1 fractional odds. Betting on a Joe Maddon-managed team with Trout, Ohtani and Rendon at 40-1 seems worth it to me. BET ANGELS (+4000) for your usual one-unit wager.

Let’s just hoping the pitching finally comes through.

Los Angeles Angels’ 2021 win total

Over/Under: 83.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

There’s too much offensive talent here for the Halos not to finish above .500. With the tweaks made to the pitching staff and a healthy Ohtani on the hill, OVER 83.5 is a good bet.

Odds to win the AL West Division

  • Astros: +130 (bet $100 to win $130)
  • Oakland A’s: +150 (bet $100 to win $150)
  • Angels: +375 (bet $100 to win $375)
  • Seattle Mariners: +2500 (bet $100 to win $2,500)
  • Rangers: +5000 (bet $100 to win $5,000)

The Angels’ implied probability of winning the division is 21.05% or 15/4 fractional odds. The payoff isn’t worth it to me. I’d prefer a line of +500 or higher. PASS.

Odds to win the American League

Odds: +2000 (bet $100 to win $2,000)

Because of their past – and pitching woes – the Angels get no respect. Eight teams have shorter odds, led by the Yankees (+240).

The Chicago White Sox (+400) are next, followed by the Twins (+750).

Texas (+8000) and Seattle (+6600) are the biggest long shots. Houston and Oakland are both listed at +1000.

At +2000, the Angels’ implied probability of representing the AL in the World Series is 4.76% or 20/1 fractional odds. I do like a 20-to-1 payoff. Bet ANGELS (+2000).

2021 Kansas City Royals World Series, win total, pennant and division odds

Looking at the 2021 MLB futures for the Kansas City Royals, including odds for the World Series, pennant, division and their projected win total.

The 2020 Kansas City Royals took a bit of a step forward, playing .433-ball after logging back-to-back 100-loss seasons in 2018 and 2019. We look at the Kansas City Royals’ MLB futures odds, including their projected 2021 win total and World Series odds at BetMGM.

The Royals went 26-34 in last year’s pandemic-shortened season, placing fourth in the American League Central Division. K.C. averaged 4.1 runs per game on offense while yielding 4.5. The former is a bottom-10 figure in the league, but the latter represented a significant improvement from 2019 when the Royals coughed up 5.4 RPG.

C Salvador Perez had a big year at the plate, batting .333 with power (12 doubles, 11 home runs). Perez logged a .986 OPS; the problem for the Kansas City offense is that no other lineup regular posted an OPS over .778.

The Royals bullpen was counted on for a lot of innings, but that group came through with a sneaky-good performance. K.C. notched a 3.84 bullpen ERA, the eight-best in MLB.

Kansas City Royals’ 2021 World Series odds

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated March 15 at 6:30 a.m. ET.

Odds: +10000 (bet $100 to win $10,000)

Only the Texas Rangers (+15000) and Pittsburgh Pirates (+20000) have longer odds to win the World Series in 2021. While the profit is fantastic, this isn’t a bet to make. PASS.

Baseball season is finally here! Get some action on the 2021 season with an MLB futures bet at BetMGM in CO, IA, IN, MI, NJ, PA, TN, VA and WV. Place your legal, online bets at BetMGM. New customer offer, terms and conditions apply. Bet now!

Kansas City Royals’ 2021 win total

Over/Under: 73.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

The total here is fair, without much value on either side. But the Royals will be awfully reliant on young arms in a season in which depth (and innings-eating experienced depth) figures to play a key role. If there is a lean, its on fading the Royals a bit.

Odds to win the AL Central

  • Chicago White Sox: -125 (bet $125 to win $100)
  • Minnesota Twins: +150 (bet $100 to win $150)
  • Cleveland Indians: +750 (bet $100 to win $750)
  • Royals: +4000 (bet $100 to win $4,000)
  • Detroit Tigers: +6600 (bet $100 to win $6,600)

With only the Tigers having longer odds to win the AL Central, the strong lean here is a non-Royals bet is the best bet.

Odds to win the American League

The Royals (+6600) join the likes of the Orioles (+6600), Tigers (+6600) and Mariners (+6600) near the bottom of pack in the AL. Only the Rangers have worse odds at +8000. It isn’t worth investing on the Royals at this time, they have too much working against them.

2021 Oakland A’s World Series, win total, pennant and division odds

Looking at the 2021 MLB futures for the Oakland A’s, including odds for the World Series, pennant, division and their projected win total.

The Oakland A’s won the AL West in last year’s shortened season. They went 36-24 in the regular season and made their third consecutive postseason appearance. Below, we look at the Oakland A’s MLB futures odds, including their projected 2021 win total and World Series odds at BetMGM.

Oakland defeated the Chicago White Sox in a three-game AL Wild Card Series. The A’s had to rally from a 3-0 deficit in the deciding Game 3 for a 6-4 victory. It was the franchise’s first playoff series win since 2006.

The A’s were eliminated in the next round, falling to the Houston Astros 3-1 in an AL Division Series.

Oakland’s big offseason move was sending slugger DH Khris Davis to the Texas Rangers for SS Elvis Andrus in a five-player deal. Andrus will replace SS Marcus Semien, who signed with the Toronto Blue Jays.

1B Matt Olson and 3B Matt Chapman lead a returning nucleus on the offensive side. Pitching-wise, there’s excitement about the future of the rotation with young LHPs’ Jesus Luzardo and A.J. Puk (sixth overall pick in 2016 draft).

The A’s added 1B/OF Mitch Moreland and RHP Trevor Rosenthal. The hope is Moreland replaces Davis’ offensive stats, while Rosenthal can take over the closing role with 2019 All-Star reliever Liam Hendriks signing with the White Sox.

OF/1B Mark Canha and rookie OF Seth Brown (.297, 37 HRs, 104 RBIs with Triple-A Las Vegas in 2019) will be counted on to replace LF Robbie Grossman, who signed with the Detroit Tigers.

Oakland A’s 2021 World Series odds

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Monday, March 15 at 5:08 a.m. ET.

Odds: +2500 (bet $100 to win $2500)

Ten teams have shorter odds than Oakland. The defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers (+350) are the favorites, followed by the New York Yankees (+550). The AL West team with the shortest odds is Houston (+2200).

The longest odds belong to the Pittsburgh Pirates (+20000) and Texas Rangers (+15000).

At +2500, Oakland’s implied probability of winning the World Series of 3.85% or 25/1 fractional odds. It would make for a nice payoff, but the A’s downgraded with Andrus, Moreland and Rosenthal replacing Semien, Davis and Hendriks. PASS.

Oakland A’s 2021 win total

Over/Under: 87.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

The A’s 36 wins in last year’s 60-game season equates to 97 victories. In the previous two full seasons, Oakland recorded back-to-back 97-win seasons.

The trend makes a lean on the Over 87.5, but the A’s will regress with the loss of Semien, who set the table as their leadoff hitter. PASS.

Odds to win the AL West Division

  • Astros: +130 (bet $100 to win $130)
  • A’s: +150 (bet $100 to win $150)
  • Los Angeles Angels: +375 (bet $100 to win $375)
  • Seattle Mariners: +2500 (bet $100 to win $2,500)
  • Rangers: +5000 (bet $100 to win $5,000)

Oakland’s implied probability of winning the AL West is 40% or 3/2 fractional odds. I don’t see it. PASS.

Odds to win the American League

Odds: +1000 (bet $100 to win $1,000)

The A’s are tied with the Astros and Tampa Bay Rays for the fifth shortest odds. The Yankees (+240) are the favorites, followed by the White Sox (+400), Minnesota Twins (+750) and Blue Jays (+900).

Texas (+8000) is the biggest long shot, Seattle (+6600) is the next largest dog and the Angels (+2000) are ninth.

At +1000, Oakland’s implied probability to win the AL pennant is 9.09% or 10/1 fractional odds. PASS.

2021 Cleveland Indians World Series, win total, pennant and division odds

Looking at the 2021 MLB futures for the Cleveland Indians, including odds for the World Series, pennant, division and their projected win total.

The Cleveland Indians have moved some big pieces, but appear to still have the talent to be in reload mode for 2021. We look at the Cleveland Indians’ MLB futures odds, including their projected 2021 win total and World Series odds at BetMGM.

The 2020 Indians endured an eight-game losing streak in September but still finished 10 games over-.500, at 35-25. Cleveland finished in a tie for second-place in the American League Central Division but bowed out of the playoffs with a two-games-to-none Wildcard Series loss to the New York Yankees.

The Cleveland offense scored just 4.13 runs per game, which ranked 26th in MLB. The batting attack was led be returning 3B Jose Ramirez, who clocked a robust .913 OPS en route to finishing second in AL MVP balloting.

Indians pitching led the AL in ERA (3.29) and OPS allowed (.666). RHP Shane Bieber led the way, posting a 1.63 ERA in 77-1/3 innings, and he won the AL Cy Young Award.

Gone from last year’s club are SS Francisco Lindor (traded to the New York Mets), RHP Carlos Carrasco (traded to the Mets), and LHP Brad Hand (left via free agency), and those departures came after last summer’s trade of RHP Mike Clevinger. Not much has been added in their stead.

Cleveland Indians’ 2021 World Series odds

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated March 15 at 6:00 a.m. ET.

Odds: +4000 (bet $100 to win $4,000)

Cleveland Indians’ 2021 win total

Over/Under: 81.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Solid-not-star depth makes for Indians being a decent play to win between 82-86 games. TAKE THE OVER 81.5 (-110).

Odds to win the AL Central

  • Chicago White Sox: -125 (bet $125 to win $100)
  • Minnesota Twins: +150 (bet $100 to win $150)
  • Indians: +750 (bet $100 to win $750)
  • Kansas City Royals: +4000 (bet $100 to win $4,000)
  • Detroit Tigers: +6600 (bet $100 to win $6,600)

Odds to win the American League

+1700 (bet $100 to win $1,700)

The New York Yankees (+240) and White Sox (+400) are the favorites in the AL. Cleveland’s tag represents a middle price among the league’s 15 clubs.

2021 Chicago White Sox World Series, win total, pennant and division odds

Looking at the 2021 MLB futures for the Chicago White Sox, including odds for the World Series, pennant, division and their projected win total.

Big things are expected out of the Chicago White Sox in 2021. They’re the No. 3 favorites to win it all, have the second shortest odds to win the American League pennant and are favored to win their division. Below, we look at the Chicago White Sox’s MLB futures odds, including their projected 2021 win total and World Series odds at BetMGM.

While the White Sox finished 35-25 and made the playoffs during last year’s shortened season, they stumbled down the stretch. The Sox led the AL Central by 3 games with 12 games to go, but they closed the season going 3-9, including 1-7 in the final eight games to lose the division to the Minnesota Twins on the final day of the regular season.

The White Sox would win Game 1 of their AL Wild Card Series vs. the Oakland A’s, but they lost the next two games and were eliminated.

Manager Rick Renteria was fired nine days later and eventually replaced by former Sox skipper Tony La Russa. Renteria would end up finishing second in the AL Manager of the Year voting to Kevin Cash of the Tampa Bay Rays.

1B Jose Abreu was the 2020 AL MVP after hitting .317 with 19 home runs and an MLB-best 60 RBIs. CF Luis Robert (.233, 11 HR, 31 RBIs, 9 SB) finished second in the AL Rookie of the Year voting behind Seattle Mariners CF Kyle Lewis.

While the Sox opted not to re-sign DH Edwin Encarnación, the majority of the offense returns. Joining Abreu and Robert in that nucleus are SS Tim Anderson, LF Eloy Jimenez, C Yasmani Grandal, 2B Nick Madrigal and 3B Yoan Moncada.

The rotation, which is led by RHP Lucas Giolito and LHP Dallas Keuchel, added RHP Lance Lynn in a trade with the Texas Rangers. Plus, the Sox signed free-agent closer Liam Hendriks, who saved 14 games for the A’s last year.

Chicago White Sox’s 2021 World Series odds

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Monday, March 15 at 6:00 a.m. ET.

Odds: +900 (bet $100 to win $900)

Chicago shares the third shortest odds to win it all with the San Diego Padres. The defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers (+350) are the favorites and the New York Yankees (+550) aren’t far behind.

At +900, Chicago has an implied probability of winning the World Series of 10% or 9/1 fractional odds.

The Pittsburgh Pirates (+20000) and Texas Rangers (+15000) have the longest odds.

Backing the WHITE SOX (+900) to win the World Series for a 9-to-1 payoff is worth a small wager.

Baseball season is finally here! Get some action on the 2021 season with an MLB futures bet at BetMGM in CO, IA, IN, MI, NJ, PA, TN, VA and WV. Place your legal, online bets at BetMGM. New customer offer, terms and conditions apply. Bet now!

Chicago White Sox’s 2021 win total

Over/Under: 90.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Last season’s 35 wins in 60 games is equivalent to 94.5 victories in a 162-game season. My projection has the Sox winning 90 games – a mark they haven’t reached since 2006.

It’s too close to call. PASS.

Odds to win the AL Central Division

  • White Sox -125 (bet $125 to win $100)
  • Twins: +150 (bet $100 to win $150)
  • Cleveland Indians: +750 (bet $100 to win $750)
  • Kansas City Royals: +4000 (bet $100 to win $4,000)
  • Detroit Tigers: +6600 (bet $100 to win $6,600)

Chicago’s implied probability of winning the AL Central is 55.56% or 4/5 fractional odds. The Twins are the only threat here, but there’s no fun in betting favorites in division futures. AVOID.

Odds to win the American League

Odds: +400 (bet $100 to win $400)

Only the Yankees (+240) have shorter odds, while the Rangers (+8000) are the biggest long shots.

At +400, Chicago’s implied probability to win the AL pennant is 20% or 4/1 fractional odds. I could see making a small wager here, but I’m going to PASS.

2021 Detroit Tigers World Series, win total, pennant and division odds

Looking at the 2021 MLB futures for the Detroit Tigers, including odds for the World Series, pennant, division and their projected win total.

The Detroit Tigers look to improve on their 23-35 showing in last year’s shortened season. It was their third last-place AL Central finish in the past four years. Below, we look at the Detroit Tigers’ MLB futures odds, including their projected 2021 win total and World Series odds at BetMGM.

With two of the last three overall No. 1 MLB Draft picks, Detroit’s future is promising. Arizona State’s 3B Spencer Torkelson was the No. 1 selection last summer; RHP Casey Mize, out of Auburn, was the first pick in 2018. Torkelson isn’t expected to be ready for the majors yet, but Mize made his MLB debut in 2020.

The outfield will look a little different with free-agent OF additions of Robbie Grossman (last year with Oakland A’s) and Nomar Mazara (Chicago White Sox). C Wilson Ramos (New York Mets) replaces C Austin Romine (now with the Chicago Cubs) behind the plate.

The real issue is pitching. The Tigers rotation ranked last in the majors with a 6.37 ERA in 2020.

LHP Matthew Boyd will likely be the Opening Day starter with RHPs Spencer Turnbull and Michael Fulmer atop in the rotation.

Then it’s a bit discouraging.

The last two spots are up for grabs in a spring training battle between young prospects Mize and LHP Tarik Skubal and free-agent RHPs Julio Teheran and Jose Urena.

Mize (0-3, 6.99 ERA in 2020) and Skubal (1-4, 5.63 ERA) started a combined 14 games for the Tigers last season. Teheran is coming off an 0-4, 10.05 ERA campaign with the Los Angeles Angels. Urena was 0-3 with a 5.40 ERA last year with Miami Marlins.

Detroit Tigers’ 2021 World Series odds

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Sunday, March 14 at 3:01 p.m. ET.

Odds: +10000 (bet $100 to win $10,000)

The Tigers are tied with the five teams for the third-longest odds in the majors. The five clubs are the Arizona Diamondbacks, Baltimore Orioles, Colorado Rockies, Kansas City Royals and Seattle Mariners. The Texas Rangers check in at +15000. The longest odds belong to the Pittsburgh Pirates at +20000.

It’s no surprise the World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers (+350) are the favorites. Next in line are the New York Yankees (+550), White Sox (+900) and San Diego Padres (+900).

At +10000, the Tigers have an implied probability of winning the World Series of 0.99% or 100/1 fractional odds. It would make for a great payoff, but there’s NO WAY the Tigers even make the playoffs. PASS.

Detroit Tigers’ 2021 win total

Over/Under: 69.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Last year’s 23 victories across 58 games are equivalent to 64 wins in a full 162-game season. With their pitching, the lean is to the UNDER 69.5.

Odds to win the AL Central Division

  • White Sox -125 (bet $125 to win $100)
  • Minnesota Twins: +150 (bet $100 to win $150)
  • Cleveland Indians: +750 (bet $100 to win $750)
  • Royals: +4000 (bet $100 to win $4,000)
  • Tigers: +6600 (bet $100 to win $6,600)

The implied probability for the Tigers to win the AL Central is 1.49% or 66/1 fractional odds. Again, not going to happen. PASS.

Odds to win the American League

Odds: +6600 (bet $100 to win $6,600)

PASS. Only the Rangers (+8000) have longer odds, while the Orioles, Royals and Mariners (+6600 each) have the same potential payoff as the Tigers.

The Yankees (+240) and White Sox (+400) are the favorites.

2021 Minnesota Twins World Series, win total, pennant and division odds

Looking at the 2021 MLB futures for the Minnesota Twins, including odds for the World Series, pennant, division and their projected win total.

The Minnesota Twins enter 2021 with a shot at winning a third consecutive AL Central crown, but there’s no question the overall goal is to go deeper than that. Below, we look at the Minnesota Twins’ MLB futures odds, including their projected 2021 win total and World Series odds at BetMGM.

Minnesota made minor tweaks this offseason. The Twins went 36-24 in last year’s shortened season before getting swept by the Houston Astros in a two-game AL Wild Card Series.

The biggest addition was the signing of free-agent SS Andrelton Simmons. He hit .297 last year and batted .281 across the past five seasons for the Los Angeles Angels. Veteran Jorge Polanco, who started 53 games at short in 2020, moves to second base.

With RHPs Jose Berrios, Kenta Maeda and Michael Pineda returning as the core of the rotation, the Twins added two veterans to the backend in LHP J.A. Happ and RHP Matt Shoemaker. Happ was 2-2 with a 3.47 ERA in nine starts for the New York Yankees last year, while Shoemaker went 0-1 with a 4.71 ERA for the Toronto Blue Jays – he only started six games due to a midseason injury.

Offseason losses include LF Eddie Rosario (now with the Cleveland Indians), IF/OF Marwin Gonzalez (Boston Red Sox) and LHP Rich Hill (Tampa Bay Rays).

Minnesota Twins’ 2021 World Series odds

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Sunday, March 13 at 2:52 p.m. ET.

Odds: +1800 (bet $100 to win $1,800)

At +1800, the Twins have an implied probability of winning the World Series of 5.26% or 18/1 fractional odds.

Six teams have shorter odds, leading with the World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers (+350). The New York Yankees (+550) are next, followed by the Chicago White Sox (+900), San Diego Padres (+900). Atlanta Braves (+1000) and New York Mets (+1000).

On the other end of the spectrum are the Pittsburgh Pirates (+20000) and Texas Rangers (+15000).

Minnesota has consistently struggled in past postseasons, but backing the TWINS (+1800) to win it all isn’t a bad bet. I’d risk no more than my usual ATS or O/U play.

Minnesota Twins’ 2021 win total

Over/Under: 88.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Minnesota won 101 games two seasons ago. Last year’s 36 wins in 60 games equate to 97 victories in a full 162-game season.

The White Sox will be the biggest challenger in the AL Central. The Twins shouldn’t have to worry about the Indians (middle of the pack), Detroit Tigers (awful) and Kansas City Royals (almost as bad as Detroit).

As long as the Twins avoid major injuries, OVER 88.5 is a LOCK!

Odds to win the AL Central Division

  • White Sox -125 (bet $125 to win $100)
  • Twins: +150 (bet $100 to win $150)
  • Indians: +750 (bet $100 to win $750)
  • Royals: +4000 (bet $100 to win $4,000)
  • Tigers: +6600 (bet $100 to win $6,600)

The Twins’ implied probability of winning the AL Central is 40% or 3/2 fractional odds. There’s just not enough value on the Twins. PASS.

Odds to win the American League

Odds: +750 (bet $100 to win $750)

At +750, the Twins’ implied probability to win the AL pennant is 11.76% or 15/2 fractional odds.

Only the Yankees (+240) and White Sox (+400) have shorter odds. Texas (+8000) is the biggest long shot.

At least +750 offers a little bit of value compared to the +150 to win the AL Central.

I’m PASSING because I’m betting the World Series future at 18-to-1, and I don’t want to lose twice. Though, I’d consider splitting my World Series bet into two bets – Twins AL Champs (+750) and Twins WS champs (+1800).

2021 Toronto Blue Jays World Series, win total, pennant and division odds

Looking at the 2021 MLB futures for the Toronto Blue Jays, including odds for the World Series, pennant, division and their projected win total.

The Toronto Blue Jays spent big this offseason in hopes of challenging the New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays in the 2021 MLB season. We look at the Toronto Blue Jays’ MLB futures odds, including their projected 2021 win total and World Series odds at BetMGM.

The Jays are coming off a 32-28 finish in the 60-game 2020 season. They qualified for the expanded postseason but lost in two games to the Rays in the Wild Card Round.

Toronto added OF George Springer and 2B Marcus Semien in free agency. They’ll bring talent and experience to a young corps featuring 1B Vladimir Guerrero Jr., 3B Cavan Biggio and SS Bo Bichette. LHP Hyun-Jin Ryu, last offseason’s prized free-agent addition, leads a suspect starting pitching staff.

Starting pitching thins out quickly behind Ryu. The Blue Jays will hope for major contributions from youth and veterans looking to reestablish themselves. The bullpen, backed by free-agent veteran closer RHP Kirby Yates, figures to be a strength.

Toronto Blue Jays’ 2021 World Series odds

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Saturday, March 13 at 1:08 p.m. ET.

Odds: +2200 (bet $100 to win $2,200)

The Blue Jays share the eighth-best odds to win the 2021 World Series with the Houston Astros and St. Louis Cardinals. The Yankees have the best odds of the AL East teams at +550, while the Rays are +2500 after losing to the Los Angeles Dodgers in last year’s World Series.

The Jays will have one of the top offenses in baseball in 2021, but pitching is a weakness and Toronto is ill-equipped to handle any sort of long-term absence of Ryu or RHP Nate Pearson.

PASS on a World Series bet for the Jays as they don’t expect to have the required three-man group to win a series late in the postseason.

Toronto Blue Jays’ 2021 win total

Over/Under: 86.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

The Yankees have a projected win total of 95.5 and the Rays have the same 86.5 projection as the Jays.

Toronto won 53.33% of its games in the shortened 2020 campaign. That same win percentage in 2021 would result in 86 wins. The Jays have the offense to win in blowouts and the bullpen to win close games. The Rays also figure to take a big step back after losing starters Blake Snell and Charlie Morton this offseason.

Bet OVER 86.5 (-110) on the Jays’ 2021 win total.

Odds to win the AL East Division

  • New York Yankees: -200 (bet $200 to win $100)
  • Blue Jays: +400 (bet $100 to win $400)
  • Tampa Bay Rays: +450 (bet $100 to win $450)
  • Boston Red Sox: +2000 (bet $100 to win $2,000)
  • Baltimore Orioles: +6600 (bet $100 to win $6,600)

The Rays’ weakened starting pitching staff opens the door for the BLUE JAYS (+400) to challenge the Yankees for the AL East title.

New York improved its rotation this offseason, but the Yankees shouldn’t be bet at -200. Toronto makes for a good hedge against injury problems once again befalling the Bronx Bombers.

Odds to win the American League

Odds: +900 (bet $100 to win $900)

Only the Yankees, Chicago White Sox (+400) and Minnesota Twins (+750) have lower odds than Toronto to win the American League pennant.

PASS on a bet here in favor of concentrating on the Blue Jays’ win total and a bet for them to win the AL East. Toronto’s pitching is too suspect to bet on the Jays making a deep playoff run.

2021 New York Yankees World Series, win total, pennant and division odds

Looking at the 2021 MLB futures for the New York Yankees, including odds for the World Series, pennant, division and their projected win total.

The 2020 New York Yankees finished second on the American League East, won a Wildcard Series, then fell, 3-2, to the eventual AL champion Tampa Bay Rays in a Division Series. An oft-injured lineup is looking to get heathy with added roster pieces of a high-risk-high-yield variety. We look at the New York Yankees’ MLB futures odds, including their projected 2021 win total and World Series odds at BetMGM.

After 22 games last year, New York was 16-6 with a two-game lead in the AL East standings. A banged-up and streaky ball club went 17-21 the rest of the way. For the season, the Yankees ranked first in the AL in runs, at 5.25 per game. They led the AL in on-base percentage, but did exhibit some blind spots against lefty pitching (.715 OPS, ninth AL) and struggled on the road (.677, 14th AL).

1B Luke Voit (league-best 22 home runs) and 2B DJ LeMahieu (.364/.421/.590 batting/on-base/slugging) paced the offense. The Yankees continued previous years’ issues with injuries. RF Aaron Judge and DH Giancarlo Stanton played 51 games combined. SS Gleyber Torres never got going after the COVID-19 stutter start and missed nearly a third of the season while compiling a pedestrian .724 OPS.

RHP Gerrit Cole was tremendous in posting a 12-start 2.84 ERA to lead New York hurlers. Cole logged 30 strikeouts in 18 1/3 postseason innings (while notching a 2.95 ERA).

New York Yankees’ 2021 World Series odds

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Saturday, March 13 at 12:30 p.m. ET.

Odds: +550 (bet $100 to win $550)

The +550 tag represents the second-shortest odds in MLB behind only the Los Angeles Dodgers (+350).

At +550, the Yankees’ implied probability of winning the World Series is 15.38% or 11/2 fractional odds.

Baseball season is finally here! Get some action on the 2021 season with an MLB futures bet at BetMGM in CO, IA, IN, MI, NJ, PA, TN, VA and WV. Place your legal, online bets at BetMGM. New customer offer, terms and conditions apply. Bet now!

New York Yankees’ 2021 win total

Over/Under: 95.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

The success of the 2021 edition of Bronx Bombers baseball will likely revolve around two risk/reward additions in RHPs Corey Kluber and Jameson Taillon, and the rest of the club displaying even a league-average level of health.

If Kluber and Taillon produce and RHP Luis Severino can make an effective late-season return from Tommy John surgery, a healthy lineup with good pitching can crank out a 100-win season.

That seems like too many ifs and a few that aren’t exactly likable propositions. TAKE THE UNDER 95.5 (-110).

Odds to win the AL East Division

  • Yankees: -200 (bet $200 to win $100)
  • Toronto Blue Jays: +400 (bet $100 to win $400)
  • Tampa Bay Rays: +450 (bet $100 to win $450)
  • Boston Red Sox: +2000 (bet $100 to win $2,000)
  • Baltimore Orioles: +6600 (bet $100 to win $6,600)

Odds to win the American League

Odds: +2300 (bet $100 to win $2,300)

The Yankees, (+240), Chicago White Sox (+400), and Minnesota Twins (+750) are the top three betting choices in the American League.
