WATCH: What will the new-look Boston Celtics’ rotation look like?

New team, new season, new rotation?

The Boston Celtics overhauled their roster in a major way this offseason, with a lot of the players who saw regular minutes on last season’s squad now playing for different teams.

And as excited as we are about the shakeup and its potential effects, at some point new Celtics head coach Ime Udoka will have to sit down and work out how his rotations are going to work with the players he has on his roster for the coming 2021-22 NBA season. Some players will be seeing more floor time, and several others will probably see their playing time shrink.

On a recent episode of the CLNS Media “Celtics Beat” podcast, hosts Evan Valenti and Adam Kaufman are joined by Celtics Wire alumnus and The Athletic NBA insider Jared Weiss as the trio try to divine Boston’s rotations for the 2021-22 season.

Watch the video embedded above to hear their thoughts on who will play with whom and when while we wait for training camp to get here next week.

Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum crack Sports Illustrated’s top-30 NBA rankings for 2021-22

The duo of Boston forwards are coming into their own in the eyes of experts.

With the annual glut of preseason NBA player rankings now fully underway, one of the better individual talent assessments in the game has released the range we will find the Boston Celtics two highest-rated players in.

We are speaking of the annual Sports Illustrated top-100 player rankings for the coming 2021-22 NBA season — specifically players 30 through 11 — and of course the duo we are alluding to are All-Star forwards Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum. Both find themselves inside the 30 best players in the league as the panel of SI experts project for the season soon to kick off.

Let’s take a look at their rankings and assessments.

Woj: Ex-Knick, Nets guard Theo Pinson to sign camp deal with the Boston Celtics

A two guard with some size, Pinson needs to find his shot in a hurry to stay in the league.

The Boston Celtics have given former Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks shooting guard Theo Pinson a camp deal according to ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski.

A product of the University of North Carolina who signed with the Nets after going undrafted in 2018, Pinson played two seasons with Brooklyn before being waived by Brooklyn and subsequently picked up the Knicks in 2020.  While the Greensboro native has some size at 6-foot-5, he has struggled to find the bottom of the net at the NBA level with a career 30% field goal and 20.1% 3-point percentage.

There is hope for his game given he has also had an 89.5% career efficiency rate from the free throw line, but Pinson is fighting for his NBA career at this point, so expect a very vigorous camp battle.

With the former Tarheel will be facing off with Juwan Morgan, Gary Clark, perhaps Brandon Goodwin, Luke Kornet, and very possibly also former No. 3 overall pick Jabari Parker for two way and regular roster spots as camp begins next week.

WATCH: Could there be more moves for the Boston Celtics to make this offseason?

Boston had one of the busier offseasons in the NBA, but is it even done yet?

The Boston Celtics had one of the busiest offseasons in the NBA as they reconfigured their team after a disappointing 2020-21 season, shoring up their depth and moving on from poor fits.

Now, the general consensus seems to be that the roster — barring a signing for the open two way player roster spot — is mostly set for the 2021-22 season, but is that assumption fair? Could the Celtics have another move or two in the works, or is this the settled team for next season? While certainly a better team than last year’s, a case can be made that more moves are in order — but will they come closer to the trade deadline?

The hosts of the CLNS Media podcast “Celtics Beat,” Evan Valenti and Adam Kaufman, are joined by The Athletic NBA insider and Celtics Wire alumnus Jared Weiss to divine whether the team is resting its case for the rest of the offseason or if there are more moves to come.

Watch the clip embedded above to hear this debate and more, with the trio also talking on the strength of the team relative to their peers in the East and more.

Which hypothetical ‘superteam’ would make more sense for the Boston Celtics?

Building a title team in Boston isn’t as easy as some might think.

That the Boston Celtics may be on the hunt to add a third star to their core of All-Star forwards Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum is perhaps one of the worst-kept secrets in the wider NBA world.

Sure, there is absolutely a chance that the team could find that third star internally (Robert Williams III, we are looking at you) down the road, but if the right deal opens up for a surer thing than rolling the dice on internal development presents itself. That being said, there is a limited pool of potential targets who would make sense, and fewer still likely to be available.

On a recent episode of the “Celtics Lab” podcast, the trio of hosts spent a fair amount of time trying to construct even vaguely plausible superteams, and fount it quite the challenge.

Tracking Boston’s busy offseason: every move the Celtics have made so far

Getting dizzy from all the moves Barterin’ Brad has made? We have you covered.

It has been one of the busiest offseasons in recent memory for the Boston Celtics, with the storied franchise having one of the most active summers in the league as new President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens reshapes the team he coached last season in his image.

And if you have started to lose track of all he has done so far as a Boston fan — or given up entirely — we could hardly blame you. Stevens got to work almost before the dust had settled on the Celtics’ 2021 postseason run when he pulled the trigger on the first big trade of the offseason and has kept a brisk pace since.

To that end, we put together this handy tracker for Boston’s offseason to date:

New full set of Boston Celtics NBA 2K22 ratings released

Every Boston Celtic on the roster and then some were rated in NBA 2k22.

The Boston Celtics and 29 other teams around the NBA now know their overall ratings for NBA 2K22, the ever-popular NBA basketball video game franchise’s latest iteration.

While there are no current Celtics on the roster with a legitimate claim to superstardom in the NBA 2K world, it seems that several Boston players have improved, and one is on the cusp of reaching that lofty range north of a 90 rating. And while you can likely guess who that player may be (as well as who is just a few numbers behind), we would be remiss if we did not cover the gamut of the Celtics’ roster from franchise cornerstones to two way players.

Starting from the most humble to the brightest stars on the roster, let’s dive into this year’s 2K ratings for Boston (and if you are reading this, 2K developers, let’s be sure to get Yam Madar in the mix as well).

Did the Boston Celtics get better this offseason? One Athletic analyst thinks so

Zach Harper dove deep into the Celtics’ busy offseason and likes what he saw.

The Boston Celtics have had perhaps the most active offseason in the league after a disappointing 2020-21 NBA season, and have by and large received mostly good assessments of their efforts to improve the team.

So is the case with the grade given them by The Athletic’s Zach Harper, who rates the Celtics’ busy offseason a solid “B” overall. But Harper gives us a fine-grained analysis in his assessment worth a closer look, so to that end, we’ve extracted some of the more pertinent observations given by the Athletic analyst stretched over the positional framework he provided us for it.

Let’s take a look at Harper’s impressions, beginning with the guard rotation.

Celtics Lab 65: Taking stock of the NBA’s Eastern Conference with Ky Carlin and Ajayi Browne

In this episode, we’re joined by two USA TODAY NBA Wire editors to take stock of Boston compared to the rest of the East.

With one of the most active offseasons in the entire league this summer, you will be forgiven as a fan of the Boston Celtics if you have lost track of what the other teams in the NBA’s Eastern Conference have been up to, much less what the consensus is on where they may end up in the standings by the end of the next season.

But at the “Celtics Lab” podcast, hosts Alex Goldberg, Cameron Tabatabaie, and Justin Quinn have been surveying the 15 teams on Boston’s side of the league with expert help from Ky Carlin of Sixers Wire and Ajayi Browne of Nets Wire to see where the Celtics sit in contrast to their East peers.

We also get caught up on a surprisingly busy week of news for so late into the summer, with trades, signings, and some pre-gaming the looming Hoops Hall induction of Celtics legend Paul Pierce.

WATCH: How the Boston Celtics can still add superstar talent

It may not happen via free agency, but that doesn’t mean it will not happen.

For a while earlier in the 2021 NBA offseason, the Boston Celtics looked as if they were planning to clear cap space to sign a third star — perhaps Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal — in free agency next summer.

However, once the team began handing out a trio of contract extensions to Marcus Smart, Robert Williams III and Josh Richardson, it became clear that route to improve the team would no longer be on the table. That doesn’t mean that the Celtics are out of the hunt when it comes to star acquisitions over the course of the next season.

The host of the CLNS Media podcast “Celtics Beat” Adam Kaufman and NBC Sports Boston’s Chris Forsberg get into exactly how the Celtics could add a third star, as well as what Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown can do to improve their games further and more.

Watch the video embedded above to get up to speed on their takes with a live reaction to the trade for forward Juancho Hernangomez thrown in for good measure.
