Fantasy football season is in the air and the unique offseason is causing more questions than answers as we enter our fantasy football drafts. Below, we focus on Tamp Bay Buccaneers RB Leonard Fournette and his fantasy football potential this year.
Leonard Fournette’s Fantasy Football ADP
Fournette’s average draft position is 38.01, ranging between the second overall pick and No. 203, according to MyFantasyLeague.com. He ranks 18th among fantasy running backs as a mid-range RB2 and is owned in 79% of leagues.
Reasons to draft Leonard Fournette
- He has proven he can be a workhorse back in the NFL, twice rushing for more than 1,000 yards in three seasons.
- Having signed with the Buccaneers, he will be playing in an offense under head coach Bruce Arians that has produced fantasy studs.
- His size and power make him a strong goalline runner.
Reasons not to draft Leonard Fournette
- At least for now, he will be a rotational player in Tampa Bay behind Ronald Jones.
- He has not yet played a full 16-game season.
- He scored only three total touchdowns last season.

Where should I draft PLAYER in fantasy football drafts?
Fournette should not be a priority for you to draft. His lack of fantasy production and his limited playing time early on will limit his value.
In PPR leagues, he has some value because he can catch the ball, as evidenced by his 76 receptions a season ago, but he did not find the end zone as a receiver.
Depending on how deep your league is, he is someone to watch on the waiver wire. In a few weeks, he might end up being the starter for the Buccaneers. Then he will be someone to grab.
If you want to bank on him, take him in late rounds in your draft. He could be a nice pickup late because of the potential to take over, playing with QB Tom Brady.
