Titans running back Derrick Henry wound up winning the 2019 rushing title. Nobody had a better year at the position than Panthers star Christian McCaffrey, though. As is appropriate, McCaffrey has been named first-team All-Pro at running back. McCaffrey also made the team at the flex position.
Here’s what McCaffrey had to say about the honor, per the Associated Press.
“It means a lot. . . It is a big honor and that is something that you don’t work hard for it, but when it comes you are really grateful and appreciative.”
McCaffrey ended the season ranked first in total yards from scrimmage with 2,392. Ezekiel Elliott finished second with 1,777. McCaffrey also tied Packers running back Aaron Jones for the most touchdowns (19).
Looking ahead, McCaffrey has one year left on his rookie deal but the Panthers will certainly pick up his fifth-year option, which means he’s locked up until the end of the 2021 season.
