Tad Boyle won’t settle for anything less than a sold-out CU Events Center for No. 13 Tennessee

Tad Boyle is asking for a sell-out crowd for No. 13 Tennessee

There’s no beating around the bush for Tad Boyle when he has something to say. For the 11+ years we’ve known him at CU, he’s the kind of coach who will share what’s on his mind — and firmly.

While Boyle’s Buffs couldn’t take down their first giant faced this week in No. 5 UCLA, they have a potentially powerful weapon at their disposal when No. 13 Tennessee comes to town: Home court advantage.

That is if, and only if, the CU Events Center is packed.

“It’s going to be a heck of a game on Saturday,” Boyle said following the UCLA game. “We need our fans to show up, be loud and proud. If we’re not selling out the CU Events Center for a team like Tennessee, I don’t know why I’m scheduling them.”

We all like nice teams in our Events Center, don’t let Tad take our nice teams away. The home attendance this year hasn’t been great, but there’s little excuse to skip out on a possibly program-defining game.

Remember when the Buffs took down No. 6 Kansas in 2013? Beating Tennessee with the amount of youth this Colorado has could be comparable to that special night. Additionally, a win goes a long way in getting the Buffs back to the NCAA Tournament.

Tipoff is Saturday at noon MT. If you are in another solar system and can’t get back to Boulder in time, FS1 will be televising.
