Boston Celtics general manager Danny Ainge said on Wednesday that two-way rookies Tacko Fall and Tremont Waters will be eligible to play with the team once the season resumes.
Players signed to two-way contracts are eligible to spend up to 45 days in the NBA but the service clock does not count when the G League season is not in session.
Teams have discovered as a way around the 45-day service clock that they can utilize two-way players at the beginning of the season and after since the G League season is shorter than the NBA.
Fall and Waters would be eligible to play with the Celtics during the regular season but cannot play in the playoffs since two-way contract players are not playoff eligible.
Danny Ainge says Tacko Fall and Tremont Waters (two-way players) can still be with the Celtics if the season resumes.

Of course, what the season looks like when that time comes is another question.
Conversations within the NBA have centered on how the schedule will look once it is safe to return to play. Many believe there will need to be a training camp of sorts to allow players to get back into shape with a handful of regular-season games to follow before the start of the playoffs.
In any case, Fall and Waters spent most of the season in the G League with the Maine Red Claws and didn’t have many appearances with the Celtics so they likely wouldn’t have been needed in the playoffs anyway.
Being around the team, though, during the playoffs can still provide the two rookies the experience of seeing what it takes to prepare and play in a playoff game.
