Tacko Fall finished one block shy of a triple-double in the G League

The 7-foot-5 center bounced back from a foot injury on Sunday in a big way during a loss to the Windy City Bulls.

Boston Celtics rookie Tacko Fall bounced back on assignment Sunday in the G League with Maine Red Claws by finishing just one block shy of recording a triple-double.

The 7-foot-5 center tallied 16 points, 14 rebounds and a career-high nine blocks during a 120-112 loss to the Windy City Bulls. The nine blocks by Fall are the fifth-highest by any player in the G League this season behind the season-high of 12 by Christ Koumadje.

Fall returned on Sunday after sitting on Friday night with a foot injury. Details of the injury were not known but the rookie showed no lingering effects of his ailment in the loss to the Bulls.

While the Red Claws ultimately lost, Fall was once again dominant down low in the paint on both ends of the floor. In 27 games played, Fall is averaging 12.9 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks per game while he is shooting 72.1% from the field.

The former UCF product is fourth in the G League in blocks and has posted a 96.7 defensive rating this season, which is tied for third among players with at least 25 appearances.

Next up for the Red Claws: A road matchup on Wednesday against the Delaware Blue Coats.
