Boston Celtics rookie Tacko Fall had some high praise for his fellow rookie teammate, Tremont Waters, in the latest episode of The Grant and Tacko Show, a podcast on The Athletic.

Fall and Grant Williams were discussing the level of talent in the G League, where Fall and Waters have spent most of the season on their two-way contracts. Fall and Williams then began to talk about Waters and the season he had with the Maine Red Claws.

“Tremont playing in the NBA right now, Tremont is just like a magician with the ball,” Fall said. “That little man can hoop. I’ve seen Tremont do some stuff where I’m like, ‘Wow! This man.’ He is so intelligent.”

Waters emerged as perhaps one of the top guards in the G League this season. He averaged 18 points, 7.3 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.9 steals in 36 games played with the Red Claws. He finished sixth in assists among all qualified G League players.

Many believe it will only be a matter of time until Waters earns a standard NBA contract and his play as a rookie this season certainly showed that he belongs.
