Tacko Fall appears to be progressing in recovery from knee injury

Boston Celtics two-way rookie Tacko Fall has not appeared in a basketball game in nearly two weeks after suffering a knee injury but appears to be close to returning.

The organization announced on Nov. 27 that Fall will miss 1-2 weeks with a bone bruise on his right knee. The 7-foot-5 center initially suffered the injury with the Maine Red Claws against the Memphis Hustle on Nov. 25 though it is not considered to be serious.

Since enduring the injury, Fall has been with the Celtics rehabbing. Though Fall can only spend up to 45 days with the Celtics per his two-way contract, time spent rehabbing an injury with the NBA club does not count toward his service clock.

On Sunday, Fall was seen doing some on-court work after practice.

Fall played magnificently during the game in which he initially hurt his knee. He recorded 16 points and 18 rebounds during the 119-96 loss and set the Red Claws franchise record for offensive rebounds with 14, topping the previous record of 12.

The former UCF center has been dominant at this times this season in the paint and is likely eager to get back on the court for the Red Claws. In six games, Fall is averaging 15 points, 10.8 rebounds and 2.7 blocks. He ranks 10th in rebounds and sixth in blocks.

The Red Claws play next on Saturday against the Iowa Wolves.
