Clemson’s 2023 freshmen class is stacked with talent, and defensive linemen Vic Burley is one of the players Tigers’ fans are most excited about.
An early enrollee in the spring, Burley was a five-star recruit coming out of high school. According to 247Sports, Burley ranked as the No.3 defensive lineman and the No.32 overall player in the class.
Fall practice is in full swing, and Burley hasn’t been able to go 100%, as he has been dealing with a knee injury that has slowed him down. Swinney gave an update on his status as we approach the season.
“Nothing long-term, he’s not going to have to have anything, surgery, surgical procedure or anything. He’s got a lower body injury but hopefully he’ll be ready sooner than later. Might miss a game. Not anything that’s going to keep him out for long-term,” Swinney said.
It doesn’t sound serious, but with a knee injury it is better to be safe. Burley will look to have an early impact with the Tigers when he fully recovers.
