Super Bowl commercial rush with YouTube’s AdBlitz: Teasers creating big-time buzz as the Big Game nears

The Super Bowl commercial teasers climbing the view-count charts on AdBlitz, a YouTube exclusive.

Did you see that teaser?!

Sometimes, a Super Bowl commercial’s setup can be just as powerful as the actual ad that airs during the Big Game lineup on Sunday, gaining millions of views as the commercial chatter escalates.

The battle to capture the pregame attention that has folded into the overall enjoyment and fascination with the Super Bowl ads has been an added bonus for the fans. It’s provided an entertaining mix of creative twists and turns, cliffhangers and questions, an overall intrigue as the audience watches the screen fade to black…

Does it equal USA TODAY Ad Meter success?

While the answer to that would be a wild guess (at best), there are a few teasers currently climbing the view-count charts on AdBlitz, a YouTube exclusive, as we enter the final week before Super Bowl LV.

Let’s take a look…

Hellmann’s

It’s 15 seconds of Amy Schumer, who shoots a wink to the audience before climbing into her mayo-stocked refrigerator…where it looks as though she grows a solid pair of wings.

“Hellmann’s is about to make some major mayo magic” is all that we’re left to go on as the Hellmann’s teaser comes to an end.

So far, so good: It has topped an impressive benchmark. See the current AdBlitz view total.

Cheetos

What do you know, Ashton Kutcher? Cheetos struck gold (cheese?) in its teaser, with a nod to the classic caper setup of some black and white photos in a manila envelope—and a dose of dramatic piano.

And that empty bag of Cheetos? The mystery has created a significant buzz on AdBlitz. But that view count isn’t keeping up with the Second Act, starring a Mila Kunis and Shaggy.

Doritos

Doritos provided the audience with a Teaser Trilogy this year—and, so far, it’s been a success.

They first caught the attention of the masses for the #FlatMatthew campaign with Mindy Kaling and Jimmy Kimmel setting things in motion. According to the view count on AdBlitz, no Super Bowl LV commercial teaser (for an in-game ad) has performed as well as this one.

The followup spot, “Kite,” has also pushed the view-count meter into impressive territory.

As for the Final Act? Doritos released the third teaser this past week.
