The Boston Celtics continued their longstanding tradition of dropping road games to the Phoenix Suns on Sunday afternoon, losing 100 – 91 as the team shot a depressing 35.5% overall.
The loss dropped their record for the yearly west coast road trip to 2 – 2 and put the Celtics in the East’s fourth-place slot with a 12 – 10 record, narrowly trailing the Brooklyn Nets. That Boston was in the game until its final seconds despite both Marcus Smart (calf tear) and Jaylen Brown (knee soreness) being out injured is a small moral victory, yet one that still left a bitter taste so soon after taking down the Los Angeles Clippers on the road.
