Phoenix Suns rookie Ty Jerome will suit up in the G League on a rehab assignment Tuesday night for the Northern Arizona Suns against the Iowa Wolves, the team announced.
Jerome was assigned to the G League on Monday as part of his recovery from a sprained right ankle suffered in practice on Oct. 21. The first-round pick has not yet made his NBA debut but is likely nearing a return after joining the NAZ Suns.
Suns head coach Monty Williams said last week that Jerome is progressing every day in his recovery but was still unsure of a return date. Jerome hinted on Instagram a few days ago that a return was happening soon but did not expound on his story.

His appearance in the G League will be his first action in a competitive game since the preseason. In four preseason games, Jerome averaged 6.8 points, 3.8 assists and one steal while shooting 45.8% from the field.
The stint in the G League is part of the plan to get him up to game speed before he re-joins Phoenix. The organization will not rush him back and will bring him back up once they feel he is ready to contribute.
The game on Tuesday tips off at 8:30 p.m. ET.
