The Phoenix Suns did not draft forward Cam Johnson for any dunking ability.
He was seen as an NBA-ready sharpshooter when he was drafted No. 11 in the 2019 NBA Draft.
But on Monday night, Johnson rose up and shocked the Los Angeles Lakers crowd — and Suns Twitter — as he jammed it home over JaVale McGee.
Johnson missed 10 games from Jan. 18 to Feb. 5 due to a right quad contusion, but he came back with an attribute that fans weren’t quite aware he possessed.
In the first start of his career, Johnson drove on Lakers All-Star Anthony Davis and rose up over McGee, who is known as an adept shot-blocker. Johnson slammed it home:

Midway through the video, the camera pans to the Suns bench, where high-flying rookie Jalen Lecque is in awe.
If Lecque thinks you had a good dunk, you know you had a good dunk.
