Sunday’s game between Phoenix and Houston features Kevin Porter Jr. facing off against yet another future Hall of Fame point guard when Chris Paul leads his Suns into Toyota Center. We have the latest point spread, money line odds and over-under number, as well as all the information you need to make the smartest bet on Tipico Sportsbook.
The game, which wraps up a three-game homestand for the Rockets, tips off at 6 p.m. CT and can be viewed or streamed via AT&T SportsNet Southwest and NBA League Pass.
The Rockets (1-11) enter Sunday badly needing a win, having lost their last 10 games in a row. Meanwhile, the defending Western Conference champion Suns (8-3) enter with seven consecutive victories.
The good news is that Porter played well in Friday’s 12-point loss to Portland and earned major postgame praise from perennial All-Star guard Damian Lillard. But the guard competition remains steep heading into Sunday, with Paul and Devin Booker making Phoenix a clear favorite.
Suns at Rockets notable injuries:
The Rockets have a clean injury report. John Wall remains out due to a mutual decision for him not to play in games this season, with Houston prioritizing minutes for the development of younger players.
On the other side, Phoenix is listing starting center Deandre Ayton as doubtful due to a right lower leg contusion, which has caused him to miss the team’s last four games. Reserve wing Abdel Nader is questionable with left knee soreness, and Dario Šarić remains out as a result of the right ACL injury that he suffered in the 2021 NBA Finals.

Advice and prediction
A week ago, the Rockets were losing games, but they were consistently more competitive than expected. Since then, they’ve lost their last three outings by eight or more points, including as a home favorite versus lowly Detroit. In each case, taking the opponent with the points would have been a winning bet. But with Porter heating up, we’re betting that the Rockets are due to finally beat the number. Picking them to win outright would be a stretch, but we’ll take Houston with the points.
Prediction: Suns 113, Rockets 105
