“Sunday Night Football” to be played in potentially historic weather conditions

A massive storm is pushing into California. Just in time for “Sunday Night Football.”

Sunday night’s game between the San Francisco 49ers and the visiting Indianapolis Colts might be worth tuning for, no matter what NFL team you are a fan of.

Unless, of course, you prefer your football to be played sterilized, in a dome, without the influence of weather conditions.

A massive storm system is headed into Northern California over the next few hours, and is expected to bring flooding and high winds into the area from Sunday into Monday:

The National Weather Service for the Bay area is predicting that the amount of rain the area receives Sunday will push the region into the second-wettest month of October on record:

The official forecast is predicting at least three inches of rain for the region Sunday into Monday, with localized rain amounts of five or more inches, including in the San Francisco area:

Not ideal conditions if you are an NFL offense.

But it might make for great television.
