Sugar Bowl CEO announces postponement in wake of New Orleans tragedy

New Orleans, Louisiana is still processing the news of a man driving a truck into a crowd, killing 10 people and injuring at least 30 more early on Wednesday morning.

However, one uncomfortable question had to be answered quickly. That question was whether the Sugar Bowl between Notre Dame and Georgia would go on.

The initial reports were that the College Football Playoff quarterfinal would go on as scheduled. However, it very quickly became apparent that too many unknowns existed for officials to confidently say that was possible.

Reports started trickling in that the game would be postponed to Thursday. But those reports were not confirmed until Sugar Bowl CEO [autotag]Jeff Hundley[/autotag] took to the podium during a news conference that provided updates on the tragedy.

Hundley’s presence was not important compared to those in much more prominent positions who were there to give their own updates. Still, he needed to let the public know that the game he’s in charge of would be delayed by one day:
