Many believe that Auburn can set up its athletes to make a lot of money through NIL dollars.
In a recent study by SportsBettingDime, over 1,000 individuals were surveyed across the county to uncover how many people support college athletes getting paid, which universities can offer athletes the highest potential, and how they think it will impact performance and education.
Some highlights of the study reported that 22.1% of people believe that Auburn University will be able to offer its athletes the highest earning potential, ranking #6 among all universities
Also, 64% believe paid endorsements will broaden the college sports fan base, and 68% believe college athletes getting paid will increase their performance.
According to the study, more than 4 in 5 people believe college athletes will stay in college sports longer if they’re able to generate income while playing for their university, and 56% think paid endorsements will increase the likelihood of graduates donating to their alma mater
Another interesting note was that 77% of people think there should be an earnings cap based on the sport they play, the division they play in, and their gender.
- Division 1 – $93,000, Division II – $58,000, Division III – $32,000
- Men – $84,000, Women – $75,000
