Stock up, stock down for top Big Ten teams with this year’s conference-only format

The record may sound broken at this point but, if you haven’t already heard, the Big Ten will play a conference-only schedule this fall…

Stock: rising

 

Minnesota, like Wisconsin, has a clear path to the playoff that involves winning the Big Ten West and finding a way to beat Ohio State in the conference championship.

Head coach P.J. Fleck returns senior quarterback Tanner Morgan and experience at key positions on both sides of the football and will play their most important game of the season at an empty Camp Randall Stadium.

Did their stock rise as much as the Badgers’ after Notre Dame and Appalachian State were taken off the schedule? Not quite. But the Golden Gophers are in a good position compared to the rest of the conference to deal with the weird season and make a run at a playoff birth.
