Stock down
Levi Wallace
Get used to seeing some of the Bills defense on this list, because against the Dolphins they looked lackluster. The biggest culprit of this was cornerback Levi Wallace… throughout the entire game he was targeted by Fitzpatrick, and Wallace was ripped apart. He didn’t always have the best matchups especially when lining up against tight end Mike Gesiscki, but when he was lined up against DeVante Parker, he looked outclassed.
AJ Klein
While Dodson stepped up in his new role, AJ Klein looked lost without Milano or Edmunds beside him. Klein was a liability throughout the game, but none more obvious than when he was in coverage. Klein lacks the athleticism of both Milano and Edmunds meaning that the middle of the field was wide open almost the entire game.
Klein was supposed to be the next Lorenzo Alexander, but he is desperately lacking the talent of former Bills linebacker. One thing that Klein lacks a bit which might be harming his game is that first-step quickness that younger guys such as Edmunds, Milano and Dodson all have. On perhaps Klein’s worst moment of the game, he ran into Wallace while he was coverage Gesicki, giving the tight end a much easier catch…
AJ Epenesa
The second round pick made his NFL debut on Sunday, but barely saw the field against Miami. He falls into the same trap that Knox fell into last week, all summer word out of One Bills Drive was that he had a stellar training camp, but he was nowhere to be found throughout the game.
If Epenesa wants to move his way up the depth chart he will need to have more impact on the game, even in his limited minutes he didn’t register a tackle. A disappointing debut for a promising talent.
Dishonorable mentions
Tre’Davious White… this sounds sacrilegious but White hasn’t had a great opening two weeks. While he did break up two passes, he still got outplayed by Preston Williams and Mike Gesicki, not a great look. Devin Singletary and Zack Moss looked better than they did against the Jets, but still looked lackluster against a pitiful Dolphins run defense.
Finally, CBS, apparently one of the largest television broadcasters can’t handle some rain?
