The Golden State Warriors have endured a difficult four-game road swing. They won two of those four games and are 6-3 on the season.
It’s been a good start for Steve Kerr‘s team. Steph Curry‘s early season performances have been especially encouraging. However, Chris Paul is still trying to find his shooting rhythm, and there are concerns over Andrew Wiggins‘ slow start.
Nevertheless, Kerr is happy with his team’s early performances. He’s also aware their first nine games have featured seven road games. The Warriors have a 5-2 record when playing in front of opposing fans this season. As such, the veteran head coach is excited for his team to return to the Chase Center. The Warriors play in front of their own fans in eight of their next 10 games.
“When we saw the schedule at the beginning of the year, and we saw seven of the first nine on the road,” Kerr said. “Especially with the new guys and trying to fit the new guys in. And Draymond being out all of camp. We looked at it and said, ‘we gotta get through that stretch.’ We did more than that; we’re 6-3, 5-2 on the road. We’re in a good position. … I’m looking forward to getting some practice time. … Some home games. I think we can get better.”
The Warriors will face the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday, Nov. 11. After a tough loss to the Denver Nuggets, Golden State will likely look to come out of the gates hot and get the hometown crowd behind it. The return of Draymond Green will also bolster the roster, providing defensive versatility and veteran leadership.
The Warriors had seven of nine on the road to open the season: “We looked at it and said we gotta get through that stretch. We did more than that. We’re 6-3, 5-2 on the road.”

The Warriors were handed a less-than-ideal schedule to begin the new season. However, they’ve handled the travel and difficult games well and head into a smoother stretch with momentum.
