Steve Kerr calls for Warriors to show some fight

The Golden State Warriors head coach wants to see more fight from his team.

The Golden State Warriors have suffered blowout losses in their last two games. They have also lost 20 of thier 37 games this season, leaving them languishing outside of the playoff and play-in tournament spots in the Western Conference. As such, Golden State is widely expected to enter the trade market to try and locate a roster upgrade.

When speaking to the media following the Warriors defeat at the hands of the New Orleans Pelicans, head coach Steve Kerr admitted his team needed to “find some fight.” His comments are likely to be welcomed by a fanbase that is growing disillusioned with the current product on the floor.

“We can’t keep going this way, two straight games being non-competitive at home,” Kerr said. “We have to find some fight. We may have to resort to some different tactics but more than anything we’ve gotta be connected defensively to give ourselves a chance.”

Golden State will likely have Draymond Green back in their rotation before the end of the month. The veteran forward is currently working on his conditioning as he ramps back up ahead of his return from suspension. However, Green’s presence within the rotation may not be enough to stop Golden State’s current slide.

There appears to be a regression among multiple rotation players. Still, with Green set to return and Gary Payton II also on the sidelines, Kerr may have enough leadership in the roster already. Whether the front office agrees or whether they look to inject some fresh life into the team will remain to be seen.
