Steve Belichick’s job title change headlines major movement on Patriots’ coaching staff

The 2020 New England Patriots coaching staff was announced on Tuesday.

The New England Patriots 2020 coaching staff is one step closer to being finalized on Tuesday. Bill Belichick and the team announced the titles for the coaching staff. But, of course, the Patriots seem like they’ll go another year without a defensive coordinator.

Josh McDaniels is the offensive coordinator, as he has been for the last couple of years. Ivan fears and Troy Brown will help coach the running back position while Brown will also help with the kick returners.

Jerod Mayo will help man the inside linebackers, while Steve Belichick will help man the outside linebackers after spending time with the safeties since the start of his coaching career. There is a third Belichick on the coaching staff this year, as Brian will take over the safeties position after spending time with the scouting department in 2019.

This is an interesting coaching staff. There are many familiar names and recognizable faces on the staff, as well as some newcomers. It will be interesting to watch all of their styles mesh together to help form the identity of this New England squad.
