Among those who’ve stepped up to help New York in its continuos battle against the novel coronavirus has been former New Jersey Nets All-NBA guard Stephon Marbury — even though he lives a world away in China.
There have been shortages of all sorts of personal protective equipment during the pandemic, including N95 masks. The Brooklyn native stepped in and was able to get New York 10 million of those masks at cost from a supplier in China.
But Marbury hadn’t been ignoring what was going on New York prior to the pandemic. The former Net knows Brooklyn has a special pair in Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.
And when Marbury had a chance to talk about the twosome with Heavy‘s Brandon Robinson on “Scoop B Radio,” the former Net had nothing but good things to say:
I think those two on the court [are] going to be pretty magical. I think it’s going to put things in perspective as far as how good they really are and what their capabilities are. Because … Kyrie Irving is a different monster. And Kevin Durant is a different monster. And them two together because they have good energy with each other and they’re on the same page they’re going to flow perfectly. So I think it’s gonna be good.
Now the Nets just need the pair to get back to full strength — and the pandemic to be resolved — so they can work to prove Marbury right.
