Stephon Gilmore appeared to take a jab at the Patriots and his contract on Twitter

Stephon Gilmore doesn’t seem pleased.

New England Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore appears to be openly expressing his unhappiness with his contract.

The cornerback, who reportedly skipped minicamp due to issues with his pay, shared an interesting tweet on Tuesday. CBS Sports listed the 10 highest-paid cornerbacks. Gilmore is not one of them.

In a quote retweet, he responded: “Oh ok ….”

It seems an awful lot like a passive jab at the Patriots to pay up. Gilmore is due just $7.7 million in new money in 2021, even if his cap hit is the highest on the team at $16.2 million. It’s clear why both sides are having a hard time budging from their side of the negotiations after they signed a five-year, $65 million deal in 2017.

This weekend, ESPN’s Mike Reiss suggested that Gilmore’s contract stalemate was just business. But perhaps the cornerback is less content with the Patriots than originally thought.
