Stephon Castle speaks to the media after Summer Spurs fall to Hornets

Leading the Summer Spurs in scoring with a dozen points, the University of Connecticut alum also rebounded well with half a dozen boards.

Even though the final score of the San Antonio Spurs tilt vs. the Charlotte Hornets in their first day of play in the NBA’s California Classic Summer League, San Antonio 2024 NBA draft lottery pick Stephon Castle stood out.

Leading the Summer Spurs in scoring with a dozen points, the University of Connecticut alum also rebounded well with half a dozen boards, dished out a trio of assists, and nailed half of his four 3-point attempts — an encouraging wrinkle for San Antonio. Castle sat down with the media after the game to talk to the press, and touched on not just his first game with the Spurs, but also how he meshed with his teammates and their flashes of potential.

The host of the “Locked On Spurs” podcast, Jeff Garcia, put together a clip of his remarks after the loss for us to hear in full. Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear what Castle had to say.
