Stephon Castle showed out for the San Antonio Spurs vs. the Chinese National Team in the Spurs’ final exhibition contest in the California Classic Summer League this past Tuesday (July 9) evening at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California.
The University of Connecticut alum put up a game-high 18 points to lead all scorers, as well as 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals in 26 minutes of floor time for San Antonio. Castle shot a less-than-optimal 8-of-21 from the floor overall after going 0-of-6 from beyond the arc, and got to the line to shoot a concerning 2-of-4 from the free throw line.
But even on a night he couldn’t seem to hit the sea with a pebble, the Spurs combo guard still found ways to contribute to the win on both ends.
