Stephen A. Smith: Anthony Davis is top-7 player when healthy

ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith gave the Lakers’ Anthony Davis some high praise for what he’s able to do – when he’s not injured.

Los Angeles Lakers superstar big man Anthony Davis has drawn lots of criticism from fans for being injury-prone and not always being as aggressive as he can be.

But at the same time, there is also no doubt that when he is healthy and aggressive, he is a special player.

It’s mostly been his injuries that have kept him out of the discussion for being one of the NBA’s best players.

This season, he missed 42 games due to a sprained MCL and sprained foot, and last season he missed about two months because of a calf strain.

Stephen A. Smith of ESPN feels that other than his injuries, Davis is one of the seven best players in basketball, and he would even take him over a couple of the game’s biggest superstars.

Via Lakers Daily:

“Smith said on “First Take” that he considers a healthy Davis to be better than both Luka Doncic and Nikola Jokic.”

That is quite a bit of praise coming from Smith, who is infamous for, at times, scalding many players with unfiltered criticism.
