Steph Curry is no stranger to hitting big shots with the game on the line. In fact, the Golden State Warriors star has converted multiple game-winning buzzer-beaters throughout his impressive career. You would imagine that icing a game in front of a sold-out crowd is the type of feeling that’s almost impossible to replicate.
However, in recent days, Curry’s golf game has been making a big impression on social media. Fans have been impressed with Curry’s overall skill level, while the superstar guard also went viral for hitting his first hole-in-one. Those same skills have seen Curry named the AC Champion – something which he likens to the feeling of converting one of his game-winning shots.
“It’s pretty damn close [to the feeling of a game-winning buzzer-beater],” Curry said. “Like, in this game, you obviously have a lot more time to think about the scenario and the moment. And just the routine of it all is the most important. Like on the basketball court, it’s all about reacting…You think about, like, you have a lot more time to react from the basketball court. Out here, it’s all about what happens in here and to be able to kind of maintain focus, contain the emotions.”
“How does this compare to say a three pointer at the buzzer to win a game?”

While Curry isn’t likely to start a second career as a professional golfer anytime soon, it’s clear that his incredible hand-eye coordination translates well to the golf course. With his AC Championship win, Curry can now erase the memory of losing to Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce in The Match, where he and Klay Thompson were light work for the star NFL duo.
Warriors fans will likely be hoping that Curry’s hunger for another NBA championship has been stoked by his recent golfing success, and given the recent additions to Golden State’s roster, there’s every chance the team makes a deep run this year.
