On Monday night, it didn’t take long for Steph Curry to make history at Chase Center.
With 21 points in the first quarter against the Denver Nuggets, Curry etched his name at the top of Golden State’s record books to pass Wilt Chamberlain as the franchise’s all-time scoring leader.
Heading into Monday’s tilt against the Nuggets, Curry needed 18 points to tie Chamberlain’s franchise-best 17,783 points with the Warriors. The seven-time All-Star point guard exploded in the first quarter to officially pass Chamberlain on a layup with 1:40 remaining in the opening quarter.

Along with the all-time scoring record, Curry captured the Warriors’ all-time assist lead with a dime against the Los Angeles Lakers in March. At 33-years-old, Curry will have the opportunity to create serious separation at the top of Golden State’s record books.
