George Pickens has only been working with Russell Wilson for a few months, and the two have yet to play a game together. But it didn’t take Pickens long to see Wilson’s strongest suit: Leadership.
“He’s a very good leader,” Pickens told the media on Wednesday’s final day of training camp. “He’s more a verbal guy than the other Qs, for sure. His enthusiasm is the best thing about him.”
Fans will see Wilson playing in the Black and Gold for the first time when the Steelers take on the Buffalo Bills in their dress rehearsal game tonight.
Not only will Wilson start, but, as Mike Tomlin said on Thursday, anyone and everyone healthy will get an opportunity for snaps.
All eyes will be on Wilson and Pickens to see what kind of magic the two can make. It will likely be their only game together before the season kicks off on Sept. 8.
Pickens caught both targets from Justin Fields in game one of the preseason versus the Houston Texans, one for a first down, and finished with 25 yards receiving.
