Steelers waive ex-Ravens WR Tarik Black with injury designation

With any player the Steelers release these days, it’s a wonder if it’s to make roster room for Brandon Aiyuk.

With any player the Pittsburgh Steelers release these days, it’s a wonder if it’s to make roster room for Brandon Aiyuk. Could this be it?

Probably not.

Today’s unlucky player is wide receiver Tarik Black, whom the Steelers waived with an injury designation (hamstring). He was signed just two weeks ago in the wake of Roman Wilson‘s injury but could revert to injured reserve if he clears waivers.

Black entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2021. He had stints with the Colts and Jets and was on the Baltimore Ravens practice squad during the 2023 season.

Black caught his one target for 11 yards from Kyle Allen on Friday night. His release leaves two vacant spots on the roster.
