The Steelers activated Arrion Springs from the reserve/COVID-19 list and promptly waived him.

Every NFL team has the mandate to cut their training camp rosters down to 80. One of the cuts the Pittsburgh Steelers had to make in order to accommodate the rule was defensive back Arrion Springs. It just so happens the Steelers had to wait to make the move until Springs came off the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Pittsburgh had to wait to release Springs until he was activated off the list by rule. Springs now must wait to see if he can find a spot on another NFL roster or perhaps bide his time and find his way to an NFL practice squad closer to the start of the season.

Springs is heading into his third NFL season but was a longshot to make the Steelers final roster. This became more complicated when Pittsburgh signed safety Curtis Riley last week.
