Look out because the mock drafts are going to come fast and furious now. The Seattle Seahawks traded quarterback Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos, changing things up in a big way in terms of the 2022 NFL draft.

NFL draft analyst Lance Zierlein put out a new mock draft and for the Pittsburgh Steelers, he has opted for a trade-up so the Steelers could land a quarterback.

Zierlein theorized a trade between the Steelers and Los Angeles Chargers to get the Steelers up to the No. 17 overall pick from the No. 20 pick to draft Pitt quarterback Kenny Pickett.

Pickett was one of the most improved players in all of college football last season. He threw for 4,319 yards in 2021 and had 42 passing touchdowns. Pickett also chipped in 233 rushing yards and five rushing scores. There are some concerns about ball security and his small hands but It’s impossible to know just how much negative impact this could have on his career.

Trading up for any quarterback in this class is risky. There are no sure things among this group and any quarterback selected is going to need a system fit for their skills. This would be no different for Pickett. Since no one really got to see what Matt Canada’s offense is last season, fans are all going in blind as to what type of quarterback he wants.
